Are people really already giving up on Worley??

I personally would love to see Worley succeed. If Dobbs { or anyone else} turns out to be the answer then that will be great too.

Love the use of the word "already" in the thread title . . . as we approach November.

I think Worley has played his heart out- but he was a transitional quarterback this year until the staff could develop a QB that fit their system better. I agree with the earlier post that said Worley was disadvantaged by a former coaching staff that couldn't prepare anyone. I thought Dobbs showed a lot of poise for someone taking his first collegiate snaps against the best team in the country.

He was no Brent Shaffer though.

Found this super interesting about his freshman year…

Moved to No. 2 quarterback after thumb injury to starter Tyler Bray, suffered vs. Georgia (10/8)

This has got to be a highly disappointing injury to suffer again. He knows what it will possibly do to his career. He has the potential to be great. Also explains why he might have been a little timid earlier about "stepping into his throws" as butch says. He's been here before. Bless you for sticking it out Worley. All you need is more play time and you know it.

Dude can absolutely wing a damn ball, and he made an impressive run in the last couple of games that created first downs.

One thing Dobbs hasn't been able to show yet is composure, and thats what is needed. ...
FAIL! Took his first college snaps, down 35-0 against the #1 team in the nation. Accurate passes minus one too high, no TOs, looked confident, ran solidly, moved the ball. To those who say it was Bama's 2nd string; yep, the same 2nd string that is good as most starters in the SEC.

Dobbs Made more productive runs today in two quarters than Worley has the last 2 and a half Games. Worley under throws 80% of balls 30 plus yards so I don't know what your talking about. He's a good guy. But he just physically doesn't have the talent to intimidate defenses with his arm or legs.

Injury or not, he's not exactly been tearing it up all year. He's a junior, so if he has not gotten better at this point, he probably never will.

Agreed, we has been here a while. We have won games in spite of Worley, not because of Worley

Didn't read any comments so what I'm about to say may have been said. I love Worleys toughness but I wanted Dobbs from the get go. He can run this offense, I was ready to take the lumps with it. It has nothing to do with how he performed yesterday. As far as Dobbs in practice, some players are just gamers and never get the shot but when they do, they perform. This could be dobbs

Is this a joke?

The man led us to our first upset in 4 years and he doesn't play well with an injury against the #1 team in the country and everyone is ready to see him benched??

Good grief, are people stupid or just irrational? Or both?

Justin, shouldn't you be getting treatment on your thumb?

Everyone is stupid or irrational if they have a different opinion. The defense led the Vols to victory along with a spectacular catch by North. Worley is average at best. It's time to move on.

3 games with 607 yards with 1 TD 3 Int and a 55% completion rate isn't impressive IMO.

Personally I just think Josh Dobbs has a lot more upside. Worley's lack of arm strength and legs is a huge drawback.

The fact that Dobbs has more talent to lean on than Worley had as a freshman is encouraging also.

Dobbs won't have to set the world on fire for this offense to work effectively.
