There have been rumors on other threads about us having some silent commits. X has even related to having 4-6 player's coming out in the next two weeks. Who do you think they might be? Anyone care to guess? Play along, slow news week.

4-6? If I had to guess...Crowder, Martin, Downs, Kerbyson, Coleman, Arnett (if today goes well)...would be a possible 6 that could make a committment within the next couple weeks IMO

I'm sure I left off a couple more that could commit soon.

I'll play...

I'd be surprised if these guys didn't commit in the next 2-4 weeks...

Crowder
Martin
Downs
Coleman

I wouldn't be shocked at all if these two committed in that same time frame..

Kerbyson
Dallas

If we landed all six of those before the season started then I would say Dooley definitely accomplished his goal of laying a solid foundation for this class prior to the fall...

Having these 6 to go along with the current 7 is a great start that would allow us to really shoot for the "big dogs" out there

I think we were awarded a national title in 2008, but they are keeping it silent for now.

FWIW, "elated" is not a verb. It's not something you do; it's something you are.

i think he meant from the first round of donations. do you have enough money left over to paint it for arnett? any leftover paint?

Tyler didn't even have enough for martin crowder and downs. he spent his time and his own money. so no not any money left for arnett. TylerD needs the hook up on the next paint job. and security

If he accepts paypal, I wouldn't mind donating some funds when needed.

Why silent? Dooley hears the negative things said about his recruiting. "not having enough commits" "I love my cousin Kentucky has more commits" If the players wanted to commit he would let them. I still think there are a few coming just because it is getting closer to their senior seasons and they want to get it out of the way. The silent commit thing is just to get more people to listen to the radio. Its timing not games.

Elated is a verb, though used incorrectly in this case. It's the past participle of the verb elate, meaning that it's a verb used as an adjective.

I think he was looking for the word "alluded."

I've only been following recruiting for about 3 years now, and I still don't really understand the silent commit. Is this a practice that really goes on, or is it mostly just message board chatter and assumption?

I kind of doubt we have that many "silent commits" but you know it's not always the coach who make them keep it silent. Sometimes the player, such as Alan Posey, has a reason to keep it to himself until a certain time.
