Having done very little research, I just want to know. Are there any "Tennessee Men" currently in our coaching search?

In the past, we've suffered under coaches and staffs from outside the UT family. We've filled our ranks will Bammers and Gators, who really have zero "Big Orange" loyalty.

At the very least, I'd like to see us hire an SEC Guy. Someone who UNDERSTANDS what is required to win in the toughest conference in America. :peace2:

I had to dig really really deep on Volnation but when I did I saw that Jon Gruden's name has been mentioned in passing.

Well, let us see:

1) Al Wilson always comes up but he does not have his degree
2) Someone will mention Dale Jones
3) There are two NFL coordinators who are Tennessee grads (I think?). One with Atlanta and one with Philly maybe...?
4) David Cutcliffe

The Fulmer coaching tree didn't produce all much fruit.

For assistants, Tee Martin, Jay Graham, Kevin Steele, John Chavis, Marion Hobby

What ever happened to Darryl Dickey?

I like the thought of Dale Jones as the LB coach or DC. What a competitor!!

Not giving up on Gruden. Sanders? Has he learned anything since he left? Cutt? He's not going to jump ship, just yet. IMHO.

I have to say that Gruden is going to be a longshot. Although I wouldn't be all that mad to get Cut back. If we got him and he retained JG and CP. Also somehow get Chavis back. Could be interesting. I would say that Cut is atleast in the talk of your boosters.

OH, I see what you did here, anothe fire Dooley thread without actually saying it.......another dufus thread about replacing a coach. It is apparently clear that all of you calling for a change have not clue as to the amount of damage it will cause to fire CDD. He is a smart and knows what it will take to bring UT back to the top.....and it is clear you do not....only to jump on the bandwagon like all the other fair weather fans.

Probably not, but we have to get over this home grown coaching suggestion...how many other top SEC teams have HC's that are/were alumni? The great proven coaches are at a premium and we must find one very soon regardless of school afilation

Sorry, but I just don't understand your logic...are you really a Vol fan? Replacing Dooley will do damage?
What damage will retaining Dooley Do? Please explain

Bandwagon fan? Lol. Brother, I suffered through the 0-6 start in 88'. I have NEVER pulled against my Vols. I've never even entertained being a fan of anyone else. I am a "Dyed in the Wool" fan of the "Big Orange". I've been to the games, donated, bought the videos and backed Fulmer and Majors staying. I was ready to pay for Kiffin's ticket to Cali. I even drank the "Doolaid" at first. I will be a UT fan NO MATTER WHAT!!!

It is physically impossible, for me, to pull for ANYONE else.

I take exception to your post, if it was intended for me. To believe that you cannot entertain thoughts of firing Dooley, and remain a UT fan is just nieve and retarded.

If you do not like my post, simply do not read it or post. :peace2:

Looks like he's HC at West Georgia (10-30 record, yikes). Nice guy, always hoped he would do well. I remember when he was at FSU though, he was one of the primary guys implicated in the Adrian McPherson debacle.

Yeah..... that's about as dumb as an idiot who wants to keep the current coach posting in a forum dedicated to "Tennessee Coaching Rumors and Speculation".

If you look at that record it started out 0-10 and was 6-4 last year but they've slipped this year and are 3-6

What??? Are u high??!!Son,I literally cry when we lose, and I`m 32! I will support UT regardless if we ever win another game!! But Dool-pigeon is awful, and sooner he`s gone, the faster we`ll get back to true Tennessee football! How can u justify Dools record? After he loses 2 Mizz&Vandy, will u wake up? I personally am sick of crying every Saturday!

Chavis is best Tennessee man we could get. jmo. I know a lot of people don`t want him,but I think he`d be great if he had competent assistants.

You could not understand it because it contained zero logic.
