Are too many people EXPECTING a win tonight?

We are optimistic but realistic. Florida is due for a bad game. We have good guard play. And I think the crowd will be a factor.

GO VOLS!!

If our boys ever had the big head about their start they surely are'nt now. Theyve come up against 2 quality squads and took the losses, but played ok with both of em. I think they now have a realistic view of their strengths n weaknesses and will go into the game with a quiet confidence after losing 2 straight and be very hungry. I think this game is winable being at home and especially if Wingate would play more like Barkley in the paint rather than a near 7 ft guard. I think the Gators are slightly overratted and the Vols are slightly underatted, and this summing up to be a fight between the easts two big dogs, it outta be a good game. Vols win...78-75

I love'd the move Coach Pearl did. Allowing the players to enter through the stands.

Not to mention his daughter singing the athem.

I read that it was Watson's idea to enter through the stands. I was in the upper level on the other side and did not know what they were doing until they were halfway down. Pearl's daughter also sang before the UGA game, so maybe she does it every night. I don't know. But, she is really good at it.

Just some food for thought... Even though UF has built a 17-1 record, do they honestly have a better resume for the tourney than the Vols? Let's take a look at the opponents they built that record on...
St. Peter's, Albany, (@Wake, 'cuse, FSU), Alabama St., C Florida, (@ Providence), Bethune-Cookman, Jacksonville, (@Miami). Florida A&M, Morgan St., (@UGA, Miss St., Auburn), Savannah St., (@UT)

The non quality teams would be the ones without parentheses... quality in... 9 non quality opponents, 9 quality.

Now the Vols...
(ETSU, La Lafayette, EKU), Murray St., Appy St., (@TX, @OSU), 'bama A&M, Lipscomb, S. 'bama, (UGA, @LSU, @Memphis, UF)

only 5 non quality opponents, 9 of quality, including 3 in the top 25 (should be 4 /w LSU IMHO).

Just trying to show how soft UF's pre-conf schedule really was. After that garbage I can't believe the sour grapes on gator boards about us beating them... should have seen it comming.

According to realtimerpi.com, UF's strength of schedule is 218th, and the Vols' schedule so far has been the 10th-toughest in the country. UF is #9 in RPI, and UT is #10. Those numbers include Saturday's win.

By the way, as I said earlier, I went to the game with a Florida fan. He looked completely stunned after Bradshaw's lay-up. Unfortunately, he got hit with a little "It sucks to be a Florida Gator" on the way out. But, we also went to the Swamp in September, and I had to leave the stadium on the short end of that one. We would probably hang out more often if we rooted for the same team.
