My wife grew up in Atlanta. She only knew a couple of diehard DAwg fans in high school. After she moved here to N. Alabama, she realized everyone around here in this much less urban area follow college football. She also learned very fast that BAMA fans are a lot more vocal than Auburn fans. Yesterday while driving back from Atlanta I was telling her that some fans on this board were calling for Fulmer's head after one bad season. Her reply was " that means Tenn. fans are no different than Alabama fans."

"One bad season?" I guess 2000 and 2002 were actually good seasons. I guess 9-3 with an NFL roster in '99 was acceptable.

The 99 season was a major let down. Terrible games at Florida and Arkansas and then laying an egg against Nebraska.........evil corn people!

Let's guess how long Alabama would keep a coach that wins 2 SEC titles in 13 years and goes seven straight without winning one.

How about you guess and the rest of us will just assume that whatever they do, they suck.

They may suck, but they do demand excellence. That's more than I can say for a large portion of our fan base.

 They're all just holding their breath hoping that Shula is better than they think he is.

True, but if he's not, they won't hesitate to send him on his way.

They were trying to lock up Franchione but he knew better. Shula is in for a while. Expectations are not high for next year.
