I listen to the radio and read the newspaper and the my fellow vols fans. and they all talk us up on how great a program we are. top 10 or top 5 all time. maybe so. but since Fulmer has been here we have had one, yes one, great season.

And if u all remember we got very very lucky that year. plus we had the greatest defense to ever play in knoxville.

Oh and did i mention that Chris Weinke did not play agianst us in the Fiesta bowl. so Fulmer lucked out.

Hasnt he lucked out since he got here. I mean who could have known what Peyton would become. U think the OC coached him up like that. NO.

Other than the Manning years and the NC year. Fulmer has been than stellar.

Ut has won just two SEC championships under Fulmer. One with Manning and one in NC year. He hasnt won one in 7 years. How many did Spurrier win, like 7 in a row? lol.

Six seasons since a bcs bowl. And it has been 4 years since we last finished in the top 10 in the final polls.

How is that "great"? good yes. but great? no.

what makes Fulmer so good? his recruiting? so what. if u cant motivate and teach what does it matter?

i love what he has done for this school. but i want to be the best program in the nation like we should be. i want a coach he motivates and teaches and is friends with the players, not an enemy. he doesnt seem to bound with the players.

n e way i am rambling. i think we need to take a long look at this team and imagine where we will be in 3 years if this mediocrity at coaching keeps on.

well up until this year he did have the highest active winning percentage...you just don't get lucky that often.

Fulmer can make some good teams, but like many coaches, he also needs the help of strong coaches along with him.

UT is not the best program of the last 10+ years... That title would probably belong to an Oklahoma, Nebraska, Miami/UF/FSU, but the Vols are certainly in there. Now it's just time to cut the underachieving and play to the level of talent that Fulmer brings in every year before all the recruiting ability dries up.

Yeah, even with how badly he took it on the nose from Spurrier, every year until 98... he still wins almost 80% of the time! This also happens to have been THE most stacked conference in the country through the years that Fulmer has coached! You are so emotional about the bad season we've been having that you can't see the forest for the trees. Fulmer makes this machine run, and if you got rid of him, Knoxville would fall to pieces as far as football is concerned.

The only problem I've got with Fulmer, is that he wins the big ones a little less than he should... I feel that he should sometimes have more division/conference/national titles to show for that .800 record, but when you think about it, how many coaches have an .800 record anyhow? Trust me guys, Fulmer isn't the greatest coach of all time, but he is certainly among the best out there right now.
