Hey folks, I missed the press conference :( Was anyone else fired or has anyone resigned?

Seems like slaying all heads of the dragon might not be a good idea mid-season. It's one thing for Fulmer to take over OC duties (a job he may or may not have basically been doing anyway, but I digress), but to drop the line coach, receivers coach, and special teams coach all at once will leave a void that might be too much for an existing administration to fill. That sounds more like an "offseason" job to me.

Its been reported that Washington(WR), Stephens(OL) and Slade(DB) will resign at the end of the season.

I don't understand firing Slade.

He's not being fired, I've read on some websites that he will retire at the end of the year.

Well for recruiting purposes and a PR standpoint I think leaving it at Sanders is best for now. I'm sure behind the scenes those others already know their fate and will hold on until the end of the season to save face for them and the program. No point in showing the world a massive layoff and scaring off all of the recruits and even those potential replacements out there.

Tennessean article says RS voluntarily resigned. Believe it or not but the story seems to indicate it would be better (financially) for RS to get fired than resign.

If that's true then you've got to respect that.
