are we playing Wisconsin,VT, or PSU and who would you rather play

We've only played Wisconsin once; in the 1981 (and now defunct) Garden State Bowl. I have not watched them play this year but expect they have a big OL and a good ground game. Since we do recruit some in the Mid-West, a win over the Badgers would help restore our national respectability.

BTW, at 11-1 why is Wisconsin not a candidate for a BCS bowl rather than a 10-2 LSU team? Is there a rule that no conference can have more than 2 teams in the BCS? If Ohio State plays Mich (which I hope), that only involves one game.

I dont know why, but I have an uneasy feeling about playing Wisc.

Yes, there is a rule that only 2 teams from one conference can play in the b.s. Oh, I mean b.c.s.

Here's why, they have an awesome back in PJ Hill, with an "O" line that averages 6'6" and 300+.

I would like to play them though, I lived in Madison for 5 years, and my wife's an alumni.

I don't think we get the chance, it looks like it will be Penn State..

I would love for us the get the chance of playing Va Tech. Living up here in northeast TN we have to listen to all these VA Tech people flap their lips all the time. They actually think VA Tech could beat UT year in year out. So I would love to shut a few of'm up for a year or two.


Tennessee actually did want to play VA Tech in Knoxville but the Tennessee DOT would not agree to it. They said they could not have all those trucks with Cow **** all overthem coming down interstate 40. HA!

I thought about it last night and Dad and I were talking about it.......I wouldn't want to play Virginia Tech(right now) because they're a hot 10-2 team and have gotten to that record fairly quietly......I don't want to play Oklahoma simply because of their run game.....They have a good defense as well...PSU, well I don't know, they run an option don't they? Unless Chavis has worked some magic, we won't stop it.......Looks like we'll play Wisconsin and that's who I'd rather play out of them all.....I think they'd be the team that we have the best chance to beat

Penn State would probably be the best chance for a win...

Wisconsin would be the best test...

Virginia Tech would be cool because of the proximity of the schools.

But, appears the Vols will get the best test.

living in big ten country i can attest that wisconsin, a surprisre to many up here, is a very good football team. they line up smash you in the mouth and control the ball. we are quicker on the def. side, and would have to bring our A game, think a slower ark with a bigger o line...just my opinion. its a game i would like to see, IF the VOLS come pumped to play a big 10 team. if we are simply going through the motions, we dont want any part of the badgers. Go Vols!

Wisconsin is who we want. Best opponent based on record and ranking.

Yes.

I think we will know sometime mid day. The selection show tonight is more for the BCS. There is a small chance that the smaller bowls will want to wait to build anticipation, but I may hear something by 5 or 6 at the latest.

There is a bowl selection show on ESPN tonight at 10 o' clock to show where all the others in the smaller bowls are going and who they play etc., so if not we'll at least know who we play today sometime

No, they don't. In fact, many of the smaller bowls have already named at least one team.

In the SEC, however, there are so many complicated bowl tie-ins that it is often better for the bowls to wait and see who is available. For instance, if LSU doesn't get the Rose Bowl bid, then the CapOne might take them, which gives a different pool of teams for the Outback, Cotton, and Peach to pull from, which might change who is available for the Indy, Liberty, and Music. So they wait.

The domino effect.

I live in the midwest. I follow the Big Ten quite closely. Trust me, we don't want Wisconsin. Their running back would go ballistic against our D-line. The Wisconsin Defense much better than PSU. Wisconsin would be a great test for UT. But I would just love to watch us play PSU. Fulmer vs The Legend.

Either way, i'm hoping to make the game this year if all goes well.

I live an Hour from Tosu and an hour from Ann arbor (toledo,ohio) Im in big ten country too. I WANT WISCONSIN.....they have played nobody, and the only team they did play(michigan) they lost. WE HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE BY PLAYING THIS GAME. GO VOLS :rock: take down the sorry big ten

remember WE lost 2 games ourselves in the end (FL, LSU) and i wouldnt exactly say Wisconsin is on the same level. As long as we dont make these mistake and come out firing like we did on cal's SLOW Defense this should look like the 2001 game down their in FL against the wolverines.
