Are we really that good?

Well, I for one am, very excited about this year's team. I never thought I would see the day that our Men's BB team would be playing this well. We have found a real "pearl" in Coach Pearl, and I reall hope he sticks around for a good while. It's going to be great when we get guys like Wayne Chism, Duke Crews, and the other recruits in here. Yeah, I see no reason at all for us not to be excited.

I for one had been waiting and waiting and waiting for this team to fall apart, but you know what? Tennessee teams in the past would have because no matter how talented they were, they lacked this:

here's to giving the rest of the schedule a pearl necklace

i felt the same way...when are the wheels going to come off? when UK went up 62-61 with about 5 minutes to go tuesday night, i thought that was it. but sure enough, they stayed in it and won. TN teams in teh past would have folded like a cheap tent in the face of a run from UK in Rupp.

Not this team. they're not scared of anyone or anyplace. I'm sure they'll lose again before the season is out, probably more than once. but it still doesn't take anything away from what thsi team and what BP has done here.

I believe that they will have a chance to win every game they play, barring injuries, the rest of the way. Doesn't mean they will, but they will have a chance.

If there are those that don't believe now, it's time to start. this team is good.

It is pretty exciting. I'm not going to start calling myself a basketball fan but I have watched the last few games.

Well I'll be a son of a .....

Good for you...it's kind of neat to watch a sport where the guys don't have to take a break every 6 seconds, huh? :D

FYI...I love UT football as much as you...it's just that they aren't playing right now

same here...i can't watch bball like i can football...i can watch ANY football ANY time...i'll watch TN bball and a coupld of other big games, but to just sit down and watch, it's hard for me.

But, it is nice to have a rooting interest for once during bball season...this is different, so i'm going to roll with it and see what happens.

Go Vols.

Is this serious thread? We're gonna fall short of the NCAA. We're on pace with 6 games left to be a Top 3 seed. What is the guy talking about? Very athletic? I haven't been watching the same team. Our starting five:

CJ Watson: He is no greate athlete. He is just a solid all-around basketball player. Has been in a slump as of late though.

Chris Lofton: Unbelievable shooter, great at knocking down conteseted shots. Far from a great athlete.

Dane Bradshaw: Won't quite "blow your socks off" with his athletic ability. Doesn't have a great handle, inconsistent shooter, poor FT shooter, undersized, etc. All heart, all the intangibles, gives 100% effort at all times, dictates to his opponents, fights for rebounds, chases down loose balls, finds the open man, etc. Heart and soul of this team...but far from being very athletic.

Andre Patterson is a pretty good athlete, not great, but probably above average.

Major Wingate is nothing special as far as being a pure athlete is concerned.

Stanley Asumnu is a very good athlete coming off the bench, not a very good ball player, but a very good athlete.

Overall, we are far from a very athletic team.

Unless you are a troll, I can't believe you said you think we fall short of the NCAAT.
