If you root against the team by wanting the coach to whiff on the recruiting trail?

Zagsblog does not say that Jay Wright leads for Pinkston, it said he is pushing hard for him. It also says in the same round up that Bruce Pearl flew up in a private plane to see him.

In fact the wrap up on New York prospects says we are still in the mix for Tobias Harris and Pinkston. That will not be mentioned by some on here who must have lost several contests of last man standing for some young coed at OCI with Coach Bruce Pearl.

We beat Florida with lower ranked players than the ones they had, we beat Memphis with lower ranked players as well.

Bruce Pearl wants to end up with the two we have and Crawford and Harris and Pinkston. If we cannot get them all, we will get some backups that are top 150 guys.

It is a valid concern that Bruce Pearl has never had an outstanding on the ball defensive PG to play in his system and make it miserable for opposing guards when they try to bring the ball up the floor, but it is also something that the two guards he has and Crawford may be able to help change.

We have learned the lesson with Ramar and if guys want to smoke all day and play like they have a stomach full of pizza and brownies they will not be brought into the program.

Most of us will be pleasantly surprised by the deep tourney run of UT and the fact that we beat UK at least one of the two games. A few bitter people who have a personal axe to grind will continue to get on here and say that he cannot coach offense etc.

I think the time in Israel when World Wide We$$$ swayed Selby was a mistake, but I think Bruce will bring in better talent than the Peterson, Green, O'Neill and Houston era and he will develop it to continue winning 20 plus games. If you are not happy with that as a UT basketball fan, I think you are an idiot.

Torrel Harris, Tobias' father, says the family is looking for a program that will emphasize the "point forward" position and allow Tobias to prepare for a potential career at the next level.

If Tyler Smith has a great year and looks like a high draft choice we will be in good shape to make Tobias the new Tyler. If he flames out we will have no good examples to point to of Bruce Pearl getting people ready for NBA careers and we will miss on the guy. Simple as that....

AMENNNN BROTHERRR!!! I have been thinking the same thing! A lot of folks on here just want to post the bad about Pearl and his recruiting efforts! Meanwhile, we have barely heard anything of him picking up a solid point guard in Trae Golden! I'm just tired of the negativity. So much negativity, in fact, that even I started to doubt Pearl.... But remember, without Pearl, Knoxville wouldn't even be on the college basketball map! We owe everything to him for reviving our program! GOOOO VOLS! GOOOO COACH PEARL!!! :clapping:

Out of all the garbage posts you've made, this is by far the diamond in the rough. nicely done

Since you quoted it, thus subjecting me to it, I like how he must have missed the article Zag posted earlier today with a heading stating Villanova had "separated" themselves from the field in Pinkston's recruitiment, an article where he clearly states he believes them to be the leader. That's what I love about Pearlophiles. They can't even get the simple task of reading a blog correct.

Don't really care what happens to pinkston to be honest. I was quoting the overall message of the post. I was around when Allen Houston was all we had. I'll be a Tennessee fan when Bruce is gone, he is our coach. He makes mistakes, but as long as he is our coach I'll support him. The Tennessee Basketball program has come a long ways since the Houston era. Bruce has brought excitment back to a program that was dead and for that I'm grateful.

It will be strange if Michael Bradley goes from Chattanooga to UConn and does well and we did not want him.

Aside from never developing a top PG in his tenure, Coach Pearl has not developed a top center.

I also still have hopes for Negedu. Unlike JP Prince, there was never an illness or injury to explain him going from highly rated and recruited to Arizona to not doing much for TN.

Bruce Pearl is the man, a ton of programs would love to have him as coach. i understand that his style of play is different but for the most part it has been successful. This team this year is the most talented group we have ever put on the court since Pearl has been here. Until we miss the tourney 2 years in a row, Im a Pearl fan all the way.
