Well VN, are you? Is there something where you just have bad luck on consistently? Feel jinxed or cursed? Not cursed, cursed, like witch doctor, but just something isnt right.

For instance I am jinxed when it comes to one of the elevators in the building I work in. Elevator D does not let me out onto my floor about a quarter of the time I use it. Other people have issues, but not as frequently or as bad. Like for them it will just take longer than normal to open, but for me it wont open at all until it returns to the lobby.

Video games are another, depending on the game/mode I get drastically different experiences than other players. It's usually like I am on a higher difficulty than the rest, but these games everyone has the same. The game is always more aggressive to me than my friends. And they will consistently say "I have never seen that before" but for me its every time. This happens across multiple games/franchises and even platforms.

At my old firm I was cursed because we never won a proposal that I worked on. Sometimes it was the competition, sometimes I did mess something up that lost us on a technicality, or sometimes the project would get cancelled all together. Probably 20 proposals I did, never got one, and my firm's success rate was 70%. So law of averages said I should have helped win plenty.

And you expect someone to reply and get some of your bad mojo?

One, gambling. I learned my lesson in highschool by betting on the Bills to win the Superbowl every time 🤣. Second, red lights in Georgia. I don't care where it is, or what time it is, if I'm about to go through it, it turns red. Every light, everywhere 🤣

I’m the opposite. I don’t win raffles but pretty much will get everything else going my way. I admit Timing traffic lights is a bit easier outside Atlanta.

McRib and I had this discussion friday about me. I have had ants knock out my air conditioning unit a total of 5 times, over 3 different residences. Happened in an apartment in Texas. Happened in our first home in TN. Has happened a total of 3 times in our current house we've owned for almost 18 years...the last time was on Friday which prompted the discussion.

Golf.

6 years now of playing pretty consistently and I just can’t get good at this sport. I have good rounds occasionally (mid 80’s), but I broke 100 after about a year of playing, after that got consistently in the 90’s, and have stayed there for 5 years. Just can’t make any progress.

It’s painful.

See, everybody??? Some people go through their whole life unaware ants can attack an AC unit.

Those little idiots climb inside and congregate around the electrical connectors. Once they bridge the space between, they short our the connector and disable the unit. The one I just had repaired cost $299 in parts and labor.

Easy fix yourself if you are handy at all. Cut off power at the breaker. Remove a couple screws to expose the 4 pole relay, spray the contacts with contact cleaner or remove roasted ants with very fine sand paper. Put back cover / screws. Turn breaker back on - you just made $300! Now sprinkle granular insect killer around the outside of your ac unit so those pests don’t return.

Great advice, thank you. I sprayed for ants around the unit on Saturday. Now that I have a DIY fix on the jinx, the jinx will disappear.

I didn't believe this until I tried it. Throw a few hedgeapples out in your landscaping. We used to get ants and on a joke with Mrs. Ernest T., I tried it. Put a few around outside and on the surfaces where the ants are and hocus cadabra, they're gone and have not been back.

We had those when me and my wife first got married. I used to enjoy hitting them with the lawnmower 🤣. I swear I hit a few that would kill the mower engine 🤣

I feel that way sometimes. Not really cursed but confusion and negative energy.
