Pearl is the greatest coach in UT Bball history
IMO, Thats not saying much. Everyone knows we didnt have a basketball team till about 4 years ago
Exactly. Best might be a more appropriate word than greatest.

He is regarded as a very good coach and people respect the job he has done at ut despite your incessant hatred of him

I'm thinking about printing out a bunch of these posts regarding how much "respect" Pearl has among his peers and taking them with me if I make the trip to Vegas for the summer megatournaments this year. It would be funny to see bourbon and beer squirt out coaches' noses as they laugh at that premise.I don't hate him. He has been good for this program, but he is only regarded as a good coach in light of our history. Those across the basketball world don't share your respect.

Well put. I agree. He's not an elite coach yet, but I agree with "damn good."Maybe Pearl's peers have their egos and pride in their way in judging Pearl. BP has had a top tier SOS, RPI, SEC win total, and Season win total in his tenure at UT. He took a program which was on life support and has competed every year for SEC championship. He did this with players that other teams did not want (Lofton), walk on's (Smith), and wasted scholarships (Bradshaw). Many of his peers have never forgiven his doing the right thing. Anyone who could come to UT in the State the program was in and win one hundred (almost) times in the four years against the SOS he faced is a d**ned good coach, and I don't care how much whiskey his peers spit out their nose. You don't have be a peer to know what you eyes and records tell you.
