Foster is a RB from California. I have to think that Trooper Taylor played a role in this one. That gives us two tailbacks in this class and I would imagine that will be all we will sign.

Foster will be a damn good running back! B) i'm impressed with Trooper Taylor it seems the recruits like Him and He's got the knack for recruiting. B)

I found it interesting that several players were quoted as saying something to the effect of "we talked about more than football'. It sounds like he has a knack for getting through to kids on a personal level.

Vols Vaulting Into Top-10 Contention

With Signing Day only one week away and the list of blue-chip athletes dwindling, the attention is squarely on the remaining uncommitted athletes. It looks like Tennessee is putting themselves in a good position with many of these recruits and is in position to vault into the top 10.

Tennessee picked up a commitment today from RB Arian Foster of San Diego Mission Bay. He's a little-known but highly regarded back with size (6-1, 200-pounds) and speed. The Vols also recently received a commitment from underrated OL Cameron Mayo of Dalton, Ga. His father, Bill Mayo, earned All-American honors at UT and the early 1980s. Offensive lineman Anthony Parker from Lovejoy, Ga. also pledged to the Vols.

From what I know, they love him. They like the discipline, they like that he's tough
and they do respect him. Plus, he's a good guy and they can tell. I will tell you that
this team is going to come around. The guys are hungry. Coaches too.

That sounds great! I'm sure Arian will be one of our main "go to players this year". I wish football was starting next weekend! That's how confident I am in the team, coaches and players. :biggrin2:

fostermom,
welcome to our board...as a long time UT fan you feel some sort of weird relationship with the players we root for...now with the internet, that relationship becomes much more resulting in yourself posting on Volnation.

Obviously Arian was the bright spot of last year and I am excited what he will bring to the table this year...It seems as though you have developed an outstanding young man and I share the same pride you feel knowing he is wearing Tennessee Orange.

Please continue to post on here regularly, I look forward to your insight while following your son.

I agree with you Volunteer. That said,Fostermom doesn't say a whole lot, but what she does say is very interesting and informative. While we stand on the outside looking in, she is in the mist of all thats going on with the Vols. Class act for sure.

Cool. I don't know that we've had a player's parent on here before. What a great new "take" on football, college, and the process of maturity. Welcome to the board, and post often.

Oh, and I've got a great Tennessee room if you can swing me an autographed piece of memorabilia. :whistling:

I can tell you that a family member of David Holbert posts here.
