Foster started from the 2nd half of 2005 until 2008....i think he got alot of touches

(yeah looks like 650 for almost 3,000 yards....didn't he end up like UT's all-time leading rusher or something also?)

Looks like Fulmer wasn't honest with Foster...

At Tennessee, 'weeded out of the rotation'

For example, when Foster thought about leaving Tennessee for an NFL bid after his stellar junior season, Carl said former Tennessee coach Phil Fulmer promised Arian that he'd receive 25 to 30 carries a game if he stayed.

But after coming into his senior year needing just 685 yards to become the school's all-time leading rusher, Foster wound up with just 570 because of injuries and a limited role in the offense of new coordinator Dave Clawson.

"I thought I was going to be the go-to guy," said Foster, who received a second-round grade from the NFL's draft evaluators after his junior season.

"But I barely got the ball after my first two games. And after that, I was slowly weeded out of the rotation. I felt like I couldn't say anything because Coach Fulmer's job was in jeopardy and I'd end up looking like I was selfish

Fulmer couldn't be reached for comment.

to be honest, i'm surprised he got that many yards with how bad the offense was in general, more than anything else

I have to admit that I doubted this guy when he was playing for UT. Now I feel stupid, but I wish him the best. The thought of that fumble against Penn State in the bowl game still makes me cringe.

I'm happy for the guy. Sure he had fumblitis several times, but he also got blamed for some that weren't all his fault. He stayed out of trouble while here, and played hard, so Congrats to Arian.

I didn't know ESPN had a reporter that spoke Teradactyl. Impressive!

I had to laugh at the typical ESPN hyperbole.... "Giants...shut him down". He got 11 carries. I think if he had gotten 20+ carries with a 2.5 average there might be a case to say that-even though sometimes they give player-of-the-game to RBs that run 28-35 times for 102 yds or something. Just makes me glad (again) I don't watch unless a game is being played-where they have less time to Oprahman everything.

If they can get Arian 25 touches a game he's gonna bust at least one big one. None of his touches this year have come even close to flash-in-the-pan runs I've seen some backs have for a game or two where one whole side of the field is empty for a couple of long runs. He's running through and over everything. Go, Arian!

He couldn't hold onto the ball when he was here, or did he forget...

terrible. he's having a break out year and he's still complaining about Tennessee and how he was "held down".

get over it.

Does anyone buy that he couldn't be reached by a media outlet?

all they had to do is pose as an AD for a championship caliber football program....you know Phil will be in the running for the Ga job....
