We should be able to gauge somewhat the strength of USC in this game. If it's a game at all USC could lose some respect with voters and it may signal the strength of the SEC and the weakness of the PAC 10..whatayathink MILO?

not that i think they will win but this is the kind of team that can be very dangerous for a USC to play.

Before last Saturday I'd have said they'll play a good game and lose by 10 or so points.

Now, I don't know.

My gut tells me Vandy may have won their last game besides Richmond.

I had really hoped this would be Houston's year. He's a real good guy.

I'm guessing the Hogs will kick it up a gear for this one and keep it close until the half and then fold like a cheap suit.

yeah, even though they lost to vandy and other than kentucky and vandy they are the SECs cellar-dwellers, but in the end they are in the SEC!

Arkansas will win!!! You heard me right!! Nutt will get his boys ready to play!! Let's not forget that Arkansas has something like 16 starters back! They just don't have Matt Jones! So yea I am picking Arkansas in an upset!

Stranger things have happened I'm sure. I would love to see Arkie beat them, it's just probably not going to happen. Anything is possible though.

might be closer than youd think when you consider USC will probably treat this as a gimme and not risk high value players for a game that really means little. They know the SEC is physical, and a close win is still a win. Even with a close game USC would never drop like the Vols did, too much $ involved in keeping them #1 :twocents:

I think Arkansas is better than Hawaii, so they should be able to at least keep it within 30 IMO. But I agree with you dan4vols about if the game were to be closer than expected. I believe even if USC were to kick a 50 yard field goal to win it while time was running out, they would still be ranked #1. But I really do not believe that that is gonna happen though. USC has too many atheletes.

Well the Hogs are that bad. They have some talent at WR, RB and the O-Line, but no defense or qb. However, I do sense a surpirse (keeping it close, not a win). Houston Nutt is on the hot seat and he traditionally motivates his team to play well in big games although he can't finish with a win. With the running game they have and an average passing game... i think AR covers

I doubt Arkansas even comes reasonably close. Their defense is really not that much better than Hawaii's, and their offense is a little worse.

As far as Arkansas goes this season... I think something needs to be said in Vandy's defense. If they can get by Ole Miss this weekend, I honestly think they will go 5-5 or maybe even 6-4 this season. Honestly. Vandy goes bowling. Really.

As much as I like Houston Nutt, why in the world would Arkansas allow this game to be on their schedule?

I mean they beat Texas a couple of years ago, but they were a better team then...

This game is going to be UGLY!!!!
