Arkansas has a big discrepancy in their current overall class ranking. Scout has them at 5th and Rivals at 20th. I have never noticed another team with that big a difference. I hope that the talent level in their class is closer to 20th because if they start pulling that level of talent they could possibly dominate under Petrino. Any thoughts about the difference?

edit- I just noticed Scout has one more 3 star committ, but that wouldn't make up 15 spots.

I never really bought into this, "ESPN hates TENNESSEE" crap until I watched the Louisville/Southern Miss game and noticed that ESPN felt the need to let the world know about our latest secondary violation (Dooley, Facebook & Bar incident) on their "bottom line." We are far from the only school that reports secondary violations!! Yet, the only school I ever see mentioned on the "bottom line" regarding violations is TENNESSEE :bs:

Sorry, had to unleash that in this thread. It just came to my mind. I have nothing pertinent to add to this thread.

Arkansas won't ever dominate under Petrino IMO. He's a shady guy and very offensive minded for the SEC. I guess one could say it worked for Meyer, but he was coaching UF at the end of the day.

I think that ESPN player rankings is very biased towards FL recruits, so it would make sense that UF would be ranked so highly in the ESPN ranking.

Scout - Scout.com: Football Recruiting

Rivals - Yahoo Sports: Rivals.com 2011 Arkansas Commitments

This happens imo from time to time because Scout's overall rating gives more weight to overall numbers of players signed while Rivals is rated based on quality of the players signed. As the rest of the schools get closer to the number of players committed Arky should drop some on Scout. They do appear to be having a good recruiting year.

arky had a 3 star committed since july and just pulled his offer and gave it to a 4 star at the same position. i dont know about you but that is low imo.

that's recruiting and we would do the same thing. Would it be low if the kid switched on NSD and Ark had to sign a 2* to make up for his loss?

yes we did and i thought it was low on our part as well. however i think the effect of a switched recruit is less on a multi million dollar making athletic program than it is on a 17 year old kid who didnt visit anywhere else and has been committed since july....i wonder how the "bear" and the "general" would survive in todays college football recruiting world.

So you think this kid has zero options at this point?

you mean the bear and general who never heard of scholarship limits? They'd probably think it's a ridiculous thing to complain about too
