Bielema was at an Arkansas booster club meeting when he was quoted as saying, “The reason the SEC is talked about all the time is one team, because of their dominance. But I didn’t come here to play Alabama, I came here to beat Alabama.”

Bielema also said, “You can take Saban’s record when he was at Michigan State and when he was a coach in the Big Ten and put it against mine, and he can’t compare.”

He wasn't joking. He was in front of boosters. He's supposed to say that kind of thing

From here on they won't be comparing big ten records, down here we like to measure football teams. That in itself should be cause enough for pause and sincere reflection. Perhaps after he has taken the scenic tour through the western division, in hot spots like Baton Rouge, as well as periodicals through the swamp, between the hedges, Neyland, Williams Brice, Bielema may actually develop an even healthier fear for this conference he now resides.

What's comical, is to believe he was this totally clueless when he took that job.

I think Bielema is a good coach, but I don't think he is ready for the schedule in the SEC. There really isn't a week off when running through the SEC. Granted we have some teams that aren't up to par with the rest of the SEC but they are still no cake walk. I would venture a guess and say he will change his tune after a full SEC schedule.

i'm also a wisconsin fan so i've followed him somewhat

he is that clueless, he did not build that program he simply took the reigns from barry as they began an upswing...there's something to be said for continuing the success i guess, but i have doubts that he will be successful at arky

arkansas is even more clueless for hiring him, match made in heaven imho

Arkansas is in for a long season . With the Miss schools both on the upswing they will likely finish in the basement.

He probably won't be in a joking mood this fall when Bama beats Arky by four touchdowns.
