First they fired Blair who was outstanding and now Collen.
Obviously they didn't win many of the games that were on the line but they were a well-coached team. I also don't believe it is easy to keep a quality Ark player in state and even then not enough. He will surely land on his feet I'm sure. I wouldn't think that there are other coaches in the SEC who may be wondering about job security other than perhaps Florida.

He is a good coach who was having trouble recruiting. He couldn't get the Arkansas top players and tough to win without top players.

Blair left for A&M, don't believe he was fired.

Blair is a class act human being.

Did he say "enough" to the AD or ... but he left and both sides agreed with the decision. Now the financial package on leaving?? another issue (smile) When a coach leaves a university without a job and then lands one at a better school - there is a message in that .

My point was he was a great ambassador , good coach and proved he could recruit at a later location.

Arkansas's Women's basketball program is a clusterf* ck. They shouldn't have fired Collen.

Collen got the top recruit from Arkansas last year in Jessica Jackson. That team was a tough test for us a few weeks ago. No one available comes to mind that would be more proficient than Collen has been. (Is Nell Fortner giving coaching another shot?). Arkansas just has the merciless task of playing in the tough SEC. Due to the depth of the competitiveness, some good teams are going to finish in the lower tier.

And I can't imagine Amanda Butler at Florida would be at risk of being replaced. IMO she has been very effective at keeping them competitive.

I live in Ft. Smith and am a frequent weekend attendee of ladyback games. Have been for twenty plus years (tickets are easy to come by, cheaper, and can sit anywhere I want and for a long time, it gave me a chance to see Pat's team every two years). Blair's predecessor was a joke, and the one who followed him was worse. Blair would gladly have retired here (his home is still in Fayetteville). Collen was an improvement, but that was a damned low bar. He had a fair shot, but even had he been given a few more years, he would never have achieved more than a Major's level mediocrity. I'm afraid they blew their chance by forcing Blair out. You can chalk that up to Bev Lewis, the women's A.D. She's the only A.D. I know of who could make Mike Hamilton look good.
