I guarantee you he receives a massive raise and extension after either the 2015 or 2016 season.

The 2017 season was going to be a step back no matter what given the talent we lost. It should have been better than 4-8, but perhaps a realistic projection is 6-6, 7-5 at best. Given what we know now about his coaching ability, I seriously doubt he recovers from that, and we probably have to end up taking on a higher buyout to fire him after the 2018 or 2019 season.

Similar to Dooley. He was a bad DC hire away from being at UT through 2013 at least and maybe even 2014, as Bray likely stays in 2013 and the offense remains good behind that OL. But both guys ultimately would have crashed and burned no matter what.

I don't understand Arkansas. It seems obvious that they need to offer Norvell. He knows the Memphis area, has roots to Arkansas via his wife, and plays the type of offense that can utilize the younger guys that Morris recruited. Maybe he turns them down for something better but why are they considering someone like Butch Jones when the answer is staring them in the face?

Yep. Also 100% true. Dooley probably gets a raise/extension after that year too.

A competent defense in 2012 probably results in 4 more wins + a better performance against Vandy (team had obviously given up by then), so perhaps 5 more wins. They lost games when the offense scored 44, 31, 35, and 28 (in regulation) points that year. With a better defense, the only game that year that clearly ends up being a loss is Alabama.

Probably have contacted him. He’s in the middle of a great season and has been quiet about FSU as well. He’d be smart to stay that way and focus on the rest of Memphis’ regular season.

That makes sense for him. I’d be a little surprised if he has told them a flat ‘no’. I was thinking about it from the Arkansas point of view. If he has said he needs to think about it, I sure wouldn’t be floating Butch Jones’ name out there. Leach and Freeze - sure, float their names but Jones just makes it look like you are lower than Rutgers.

Ok. When I read the OP’s screen shot, I assumed CAA was associated with the university but that seems unlikely. Who is CAA?
