FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) -- Arkansas coach Bobby Petrino says offensive tackle Anthony Oden has been dismissed from the football team after his second arrest for driving while intoxicated in the last year.
Oden, who was listed as a possible starting tackle on the Razorbacks' spring depth chart, was arrested early Saturday morning by Fayetteville police. Charges also included possession of a controlled substance. Oden, the younger brother of Portland's Greg Oden in the NBA, was also arrested for driving while intoxicated last July and was suspended for Arkansas' first game last season.
Petrino said in a statement Friday that Oden was dismissed for a "violation of team rules." The coach added that the athletic department would continue to support Oden despite his dismissal.
