Down 35-7 in the 4th after a disastrous night, but they're on the brink of a comeback against Temple. Anyone wanna bet?

There's no sense in making a Rice vs. SMU thread, but a close game has just been busted open by a pair of back-to-back Owl touchdowns. 42-20 midway through the 3rd.

35-7 to Temple? Damn...ol' Stan has his work cut out for him up there.
Stan badly needs an option QB if he's going to try and run it, which he absolutely should. They have to shorten games and Bobby Ross knew it, but refused to go there.

June Jones SMU team is sucking a serious gas pipe. Ya think he wishes he was back on the islands?

Yep.

There will enough recruiting scraps left over in Texas for him to put a competitive team together down there in Conference USA.

This Robinson kid for SMU just dropped a sure 70 yard touchdown, and then fumbled on the very next play. How can someone on scholarship be so damn bad at football?

Yeah, ole' #16 (Can't recall his name) looked like a fish out of water in that offense.

at this point his name isn't really worth recalling. Let's just call him "really inaccurate, slow, no ball control having, oughta be a safety, dude at QB for Army."

That was one of the most bizarre career moves in college football I've ever seen. You'd have thought he would have moved UP the ladder by going to a big time school after building Hawaii into something approaching respectability. SMU is a lateral move at best, and a step down at worst. Very odd decision to go there, IMO.

In an interview with one of the local papers here, he said he was drawn to the rebuilding aspect.

He wanted to stay here at Hawaii, but the Athletic Dept. denied his request for a raise, which he was going to pass on to his Assistants. They then turned around and gave the money Jones was requesting to McMackin.

Needless to say, the AD was terminated shortly thereafter.
