The result: This has been a pretty quiet offseason for the Vols. Yes, there has been a hiccup here and there, but nothing like the previous couple of years when the Knox County police blotter dripped orange ink.

Please. :shakehead:

I'd like to buy David Climer for what he's worth and sell him for what he THINKS he's worth.

It's really frustrating and unnerving when I know I can write a better article than that. What did he say that provided any insight? What did he say that most football fans didn't already know?

I have an idea, write a column about how the sky was blue today or the sun shone.

I thought the exact same thing. It's like he had that column stored on his hard drive for a day when he didn't want to work. I think his premise is probably correct, but there wasn't anything even remotely intriguing about that column that I haven't seen from 50 other columnists in the past 6 months.

I have never read anything "remotely intriguing" in any Climer article. He's a wanna-be Finebaum.

There's not going to be any articles from the media with much information or depth, since Fulmer closed off practices and drills and took a tight lipped policy toward the media. The orange and white game was vanilla and fall scrimmages will be the same.

Its Fulmer's call and more power to him. But if UT comes out next season playing poorly Fulmer is going to be villified in the media most likely, not that he hasn't already been.

Prepare youself for reading articles from the media without much information or depth, since Fulmer has closed off practices and drills and taken a tight lipped policy toward the media, they are not going to have a lot of information to report on the team. Fulmer even went so far as to make the orange and white game vanilla.

Thats fine if Fulmer get the program turned around, this is his call and more power to him. But Fulmer should anticipate the media crucifying him if UT comes out next season playing poorly. He's made it more difficult then ever to write stories on UT.

That's not a bad thing. Maybe the guys read a little too much before last season.

Climer is not the only media guy putting down our program. I was driving to Birmingham today and heard this writer for the Sporting News onWJOX 960 predicting a 8 win year and a Peach Bowl bid fo the VOLS. He made the statement that "The Fulmer Bus had carried Tennessee as far as it could." :dunno:

The Big Orange has been through a few down years in the past but it has seemed whenever the media and some fans gave us up for dead Fulmer pulled a great season from out of his you know what. Here's hoping this season is one of those!! :devilsmoke:

Nobody said he was the only one putting down the program.

We were discussing how uncreative and bland the topic is. Every writer in the southeast has said the same thing already, Climer included probably.

Sometimes...the truth hurts. So, what are you gonna do about it. Coach, Coach, Coach and Coach some more, thats what.
