Top high school quarterbacks develop*at Steve Clarkson's Super 7 - Arash Markazi - SI.com

""Why would you go to Cal?" Phillip Sims, who committed to Alabama, asked Austin Hinder. "You know you're only playing for second place. It's USC and everyone else in the Pac 10. That's a weak conference."

"Are you serious? The Pac-10 went 5-0 in bowl games this season," Hinder shot back. "You guys lost to Utah!"

"I thought about Oregon but I like West Virginia," said Barry Brunetti (Memphis, Tenn.), who has committed to be a Mountaineer. "We're going to be contending every year."

"All I know is I want to beat the Huskies every year," said a smiling Hinder, looking at Nick Montana (Westlake Village, Calif.), who has committed play at Pac-10 rival Washington."

Austin Hinder just became one of my favorite people.

Didnt Bama just sign a top 10 QB in this last recruiting class? Sims better be careful with the cockiness....he may just ride the pine and never contribute to any losses to Utah in his Bama career.

Sims seems really cocky, I hope we smash them

Wonder if Saban will still be at Bama when Sims graduates?
Yep. He loves being at Alabama and plans to coach there until he retires.

You guys are right about one thing. Sims ain't exactly Mr. Handsome. But he's been one heck of a HS QB. Of course it remains to be seen how he does at the next level.

You guys are on Sims' case a bit about being too cocky, but I think that's mainly because he's a Bammer-to-be. If he were a Vol commit I think you'd probably be saying you like his confident attitude.

As far as the remarks made to each other by the QBs attending the camp, I got the impression that they were just talking a little smack all in fun and probably chuckling at each other's remarks the whole time.

More quotes:

"This is how Washington is going down the next three of four years," said Hinder, dropping back to pass in a drill against Nate Montana, who simply laughed and said, "Let's go."

"Whatever," said Sims. "You guys are going to be playing for second place behind USC."

"Yeah, and you guys can't even beat Utah," said Hinder. "I wish we could start playing right now."

"Me, too," Sims said. "Me, too."

Yeah I am sure they did not mean too much by their remarks
