"Those closest to Fulmer, 56, insist he has no interest in coaching well into his 60s. Maybe he'll go five more years, maybe six more, maybe even less than that. He's not offering any hints."

We may have head coach Cutcliffe or Coach Chavis sooner than we think.

I believe there is no one more entitled to the phrase "my blood runneth Orange" than Coach Fulmer. My take is he will have to be "run off" to leave the Big Orange. After reading between the lines of the article I believe these are the most telling lines:

"Her feeling was, 'It's never going to get any better than this,'" Fulmer recounted. "I don't think she really meant it. It was more, 'You've done all you can.'
"But I don't believe that. I think that we can win another national championship or two. We were close a couple of different times since then, 2001 especially.
"You just have to trust that you have the support of your administration and the people who count, and truly, there's going to be some that are never going to be pleased and satisfied, just like there's going to be some that will always support you."

I have to say, I really think that if we could keep the current set up for a few years, we would be unbeatable. Cut is made to be an OC and Chavis is made to be a DC, and if Fulmer has those two, he can focus on what he does best, be a good HC. I dont really think Cut or Chavis would be a great HC but are Great at being OC and DC.

Fulmer is his own man, but don't take that statement to mean that he wouldn't coach for another 8-10 years.

I'll agree, I don't see him coaching past 66, but 10 years is a LONG time from now.

Hat and other's shouldn't get too excited just yet. I know the passion is still there to coach for multiple seasons and with this season's performance, he will continue to hold the cards in his own game of fate at the University of Tennessee.

Let's see what the record is on the morning of November 12th before we judge this season.

I know you wake up EVERY gameday praying to whatever you consider "your God" for a Tennessee loss, but I can promise you there won't be enough for anyone other than Phil to make the decision as to when he leaves.

As is always the case, you're wrong. I'm simply pointing out that a poor performance in the four non-gimmes left on the schedule would make this season's performance look far different than it does now. 9-3 or 8-4 doesn't have a very good ring to it, especially starting from 5-1. I don't think they'll lose more than 2, but the possibility exists.

Yeah, I'm wrong this time because YOU say so. Because you're always fair and honest in assessing the times I am correct, always giving me credit, when due. No wait, you just ignore those threads, or you pretend to ignore me until enough time has passed that people forget how weak your analysis of this team ALWAYS is.

Sorta like how "overrated" Cal was after we destroyed them.

Bout time to start ignoring me again isn't it? Pretty please.

In all fairness . . . Hat had Cal overrated a month before kickoff.

I'm still waiting for Cal to beat a good team. Exactly what have they done to merit any real praise? Beat Oregon in Berkeley? Name the last time Oregon beat a quality opponent on the road. My analysis on this team right now is exactly one game off. As usual, you distort the facts to fit your TCHFATUTK puffing agenda. I said for the entire length of the offseason that Cal was the most overrated team in the country. It's not a position I adopted after UT beat them. It's a position I took sometime in March. The only thing I've really missed on so far is how bad Georgia turned out to be. The next four games will determine if I missed this season at all.

True, my fault. The point was, that he was wrong. Just like he is always wrong about Phil, and the Vols, and is even wrong about the reasons he lists for hating Fulmer.

Do you see the pattern? It involves Hat, and being wrong.

We've won an SEC championship since '98? The vast majority of the national media don't love mocking our head coach? We haven't had enough arrests to populate a penal colony in the last two offseasons? TCHFCATUTK is suddenly a charismatic, daring leader? He's not an NCAA rat? If I'm wrong on those things, I aplologize. Otherwise, go drink some Orange Zima and play the Fiesta Bowl DVD

Those aren't the reasons you've stated for hating Fulmer.

We've still been to more SEC games than most of the league, had we won them, you would argue we hadn't won enough NC's, and had we won those, you would argue we didn't score enough points. It never ends with you.

Please list the media outlets and give SPECIFICS of them mocking Phil. I dare YOU. There have been none.

We have had no more of a discipline problem than most other major universities. As a fan of the Canes, you even bringing this subject up is a joke.

You're opinion of the situation with Alabama shows your ignorance of the way things happened. He's no more of a rat than Spurrier or Nutt or Tubberville, (whom ALL turned in Alabama for the same offense) yet he's the only one singled out by Bammers and haters like you, I wonder why that is?

Go ahead and keep trying, keep beating the same boring drums. No one except fellow haters believes a word you type about Fulmer or this team. Your existance here is a joke.

I would direct you to the 5 Things I learned at Vol Nation U thread. Look at the number of times I'm mentioned. Guys like Milo, Lex, etc. sending kudos my way. Then check how many times your broken record, nothing happening, TCHFCATUTK puffing commentary is credited. That will tell you what kind of esteem you're held in around here you insightless homer.

Can't we just get along before the biggest game of the year?:whatever: All this infighting may disturb the flux of the cosmic force and let Bama steal a victory.
