It's that time of year again. With many NFL jobs possibly up for grabs at the end of the season, rumors are starting to fly that ESPN's Jon Gruden wants back into coaching.

Take a look back at the career of John Gruden.
WalterFootball.com's Charlie Campbell reports that Gruden has been looking into assistants around the NFL to see about their potential availability after the season.

Former Eagles defensive coordinator and offensive line coach Juan Castillo and Chargers special teams coordinator Rich Bisaccia are both mentioned as possible hires by Gruden.

If you're not a UT fan and you're a friend of Gruden, my guess is you are discouraging him from coaching at UT.

Gruden was never coming, period. Those that think he would even pick up the phone if Hart called need to have their head checked.

It's been out for a while now that he isn't going to come to TN (per LWSVOL).

fade, you continue to confuse me with these little periodic statements you make that I agree with 100%.

You better check his latest post. He says only the rock star has been contacted. Him and skeeter both have backed of off earlier comments and now both indicate Dooley will not be returning and the plan is to hire a big name.

They need to at least offer.Make Gruden turn down the job. Then Tennessee can focus on Strong or Davis.

No bigname coach is gonna take this job, not after what UT did with Fulmer, then now with what they're gonna do with Dooley.

No way.

He was contacted a long time ago, true. Has now cooled off. Show me the LWS quotes and OCI quotes where both are indicating "Dooley will not be returning and the plan is to hire a big name." Just show me, and I'll be cool with it.

Not going to happen because all of that talk is just wishful thinking.

On the plus side, did you guys hear that USCw got fined for deflating balls during the Oregon game? No way we wouldn't be on probation now with Kiffen in charge.

Actually they have talked several times about the job...There is strong mutual interest with both parties however Gruden is not ready to return to coaching yet....No he is not coming to UT....Erik Ainge confirmed that the other day on his show and he's been as much of a Grudennite as anybody.
