Things on the hill are probably as dissapointing as they have ever been and if not ever then definately in recent history. However, the one thing that cannot happen... is losing john chavis! I feel if we lose chavis then there wont be any shred of hope for turning this thing around next year!

Disagree. Take away those 4 first and second round draft choices on the D-Line and he is an ordinary DC. He did not make any brillant adjustments to shut down South Carolina slant over the middle Saturday night. Go back and look over the years and Spurrier has had his way against Chavis D, especially in the fourth quarter!!

Its pretty easy for a team to have their way with you in the 4th when you've been on the field for what seems like 30 mins straight...

Yep, stay out there long enough and the other team will make some plays.

Chavis is decent... Sometimes he does not do so well (The end of the '04 regular season) but most of the time his players are at least playing around the level of their potential.

Coach Chavis and Coach Brooks are good coaches. We need their services and knowledge badly. Don't run them off.

I think both coaches are "shoe in,last resort." For now we will look for better coaching and if we dont find them. They will always be there. CHOW FTW!!!!!!!!

the only thing chavis has struggled with this year has been the occasional 3rd down convertions... He is a defensive genius and you can say take away those d lineman and he's ordinary but those d lineman wouldnt be what they are without caldwell and chavis. spurrier has had his way with chavis but i think the problem with that is chavis being to concervative.the d line next year will be a very dominant force as well... not as good but definately good.

we've had a long standing problem with our db's since spurrier was at florida i blame slade for this, fortunately hes gone after this year.

chavis may have a bunch of first round draft picks on defense, but the players on offense were just as highly recruited as the defensive players were. the difference is chavis developed the dline and linebackers.

im not sure how long brooks or chavis will continue to stay here with little support from the offense. this is probably the best defensive team chavis has had, all fulmer and the offense can muster is probably a 6-5 record.

i know chavis has turned down other coaching jobs in the past, not sure how long he continues to do that with this kind of a frustating season. if he goes i'm sure brooks goes with him.

brooks may get an offer to be a dc somewhere. they have developed some outstanding dline players at UT, ie john henderson, haynesworth, malehena, haralson, etc
