Barnes’ is just as painful, and has been since the Williams/Schofield era. I’m not saying TN won’t have a good season, but it’s difficult to see a team that struggles to score like this one win more than two games in the tourney.

They're going to struggle in the SEC. They won't have a stellar record and will likely end up with a lower seed. That offense may have them toying with 500 conference play..

I think that's an overreaction. Until the last 6 minutes or so, they played better tonight, and that was without Kennedy Chandler. I will admit that James and Bailey can't shoot, and they shouldn't be trusted with so many minutes of playing time.

If Fulk and KC played last night both of them probably chip in at least 10 points a piece and we most likely end the game scoring somewhere in the 80s.This thread is comical with the football comparison. Remove Hooker & velus Jones from Heupel`s offense and see how it looks.

Considering we just went toe to toe with one of the best teams in the league (on the road) without our 2 best players I think your view point is pretty ridiculous. Our entire offense flows through Chandler and our team feeds off of the energy Fulkerson brings.

Missing SO many open looks kinda reminds me of Heupel's offense when Milton was overthrowing everybody as the starting QB. It's amazing what better accuracy did for that offense.

Yep. Isn't it funny how we've gone from talking about our abundance of shooters to being in the potty so quickly. Live by the 3....die by the 3. Unless BHH comes into his own, folks better buckle up because it's gonna be one heckuva ride this year. Lots of ups and downs in our future.

Beat #6 at home and then lose to #20 on the road down 2 starters and this is the take?

Didn't have our two best offensive players...and Santi didn't create much for himself last night. SEC going to be tough this year. Everyone's going to lose some games, with things so even at the top 5-6 teams.

I get that we were missing two starters, and once that news came out I didn’t expect a win. I guess the frustrating thing is that as the game unfolded and Alabama did everything they could to give us that game with their horrendous shooting, we couldn’t capitalize.
The scoring struggles this team tends to have against good teams occur frequently when they aren’t missing any players - Texas Tech, Villanova. Honest question . . . Is there something about Barnes’ approach that lends itself to most of these guys playing tight/scared on offense, or are we just not a good shooting team (again)? Down the stretch it appeared that our primary strategy was to have the 5’9” guy take it to the rim.

Emotional post is emotional.

This game simply put was a choke job. Lead the whole game, lose in the last 2 minutes. Alabama basketball (not even going to mention football) seem to have a mental edge over UT. Just from an eye test, it seemed Alabama never doubted they would win, and Tennessee was simply trying to just hold on.

I’ll not deny it was an emotional post. 😂

Lol. A shot here a shot there and we could just as well have gone home with a win in spite of being down 2 of our best. There won't be many easy road games in the SEC this season. Mark it down. No one will blow us out with this defense at full strength. Not thinking tourney yet. Wait and see how our babies develop.

Fulk maybe ten...KC he has a lot of press clippings.
