Remember that whoever transfers here that is from a major program will have to sit out a year. That being said, we are only going to see someone who is projected as the undeniable starter the year after he sits out transfer here no matter what position it is. Kiffin doesn't want to have a bunch of people transfer here his first year or two because the whole idea is to start this thing from the ground up and build on what we have. I don't see anyone transferring here based on that idea alone, especially in this day and age of people leaving after 3 years to go to the NFL.

The only transfers I would even consider right now would be JUCOs to fill serious deficiencies. If there were a good quarterback prospect out there we could get, I would jump at it.

When did he ever say anything like this? The guy is absolutely busting his tail on recruiting, so I think he's pretty interested in bringing in as many quality players as he can. If there's a guy good enough out there that wants to transfer in, Kiffin will take him. I think it's especially true this year because Kiffin obviously has a particular type of player he wants and the recruiting pool this year is extremely limited.

Is football like basketball, where if it's family related or something like that you can play without sitting? Like Tyler Smith?

It all depends on if the NCAA will grant a hardship waiver. They aren't exactly fair or consistent.

Understood. So, though unlikely, it is possible that someone could transfer and not have to sit out.

Yeah, there's also a way to transfer if you've already graduated and you plan on going to grad school somewhere else. I doubt that'll help us, though.

I just don't see it happening unless the guy is a Frosh that has a red-shirt left. Kiffin needs guys with eligibility. I understand your point though kpt, but I just think that next year's class is gonna be where we pick up A LOT of momentum. I also don't want to use schollies if we don't have to.
