Challenge: Go to the politics forum and list Beck's historical/factual errors. Not opinions you disagree with but real problems with FACTS.

1.
He said that no other President had never been sworn into office without a Bible. He said he 'checked'.
He either did not check or checked up his arsegraped butt because he's lying. John Qunicy Adams used a law book. Franklin Pierce didn't even swear. He affirmed. Teddy Roosevelt used no Bible. Several Presidents kissed a Bible but did not swear on one.

2,
Glenn Beck lied when he said recently that $1.4 million of stimulus momey was used to repair a door at Dyess AFB. The doors repaired were aircraft hangar doors and the cost was not $1.4 million.
The cost was $246000 out of $1.4 million in repairs funding.

3.
In June Beck lied when he said that the US was the ONLY country that had a natural birthright provision. Here is the list of other countries that do:

http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2009/jun/1...

4.
Glenn Beck lied when he said that the director of White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, "has proposed forcing abortions and putting sterilants in the drinking water to control population."
http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/…

5.
Glenn Beck lied when he said that when users used the government's cash for clunker site they had to agree that their computers would become government property.

I don't have a dog in this fight, but I will comment on three things:

1) I didn't follow all of your links, but I did click on the one in #4 and it took me to a page that said: "This page is in an undisclosed location. So secret, we don't know where it is either."

2) Making erroneous statements while you're ad-libbing or saying things that you are unaware are not historically correct does not equate to lying.

3) If this is all that his detractors can come up with from a guy that has approximately 20 hrs/week talking on TV or radio, then Beck is pretty darn reliable. I usually find more errors or omissions than that in your average AP press release.

Sorry, #4 appears to be a dead link.

2) Making erroneous statements while you're ad-libbing or saying things that you are unaware are not historically correct does not equate to lying.

He asked for "Beck's historical/factual errors." There is no way prove that he knew he was incorrect at the time he made the statements, therefore I will only refer to them as "historical/factual errors."

This is only a small sample. If I felt like taking the time to list more, it would very easy because the internet is full of instances of his "historical/factual errors."

Well Dr Dreadlocks, you might as well link Pee Wee Herman
for the sake of your credibility as to link Snopes and Politifact,
who are both known to be just left wingnut water bearers like
Annenberg's 'Fact Check' or George Soros' 'Media Matters.'

Biased PolitiFact.com Covers for ACORN, Attacks Michele Bachmann | NewsBusters.org

"A thorough knowledge of the Bible is worth more than
a college education."
– Theodore Roosevelt

I suppose you are just another one of those drive bys
we'll never see again but you are dead wrong about #4,
read his book, Hitler and Mengele would be proud of his
views on population control.

Glenn Beck has nothing on Keith Olbermann when it comes to stretching the truth and outright lying.

Beck also has better ratings, in fact, I think the 2am rebroadcast of his show has higher ratings than Olby's primetime BS-fest.

Leaving information out that did happen, adding information in that did not happen, and exaggerating are all forms of deception (not necessarily lies) that commentators on both political spectrums use to gain support for their views. Even within those tactics, usually one cannot tell whether a commentator relays information he knows to be false or relays inaccurate information that he believes to be correct.

The link below is an example of the former:

YouTube - Glenn Beck Fail: Best Of Beck Clips

The second link below is an interesting montage of GB:

YouTube - Glenn Beck is Confronted by Whoopi & Barbara on The View 5/20/2009

Both of these clips are approximately 7-8 minutes in length. Enjoy.

I feel sorry for the people that don't understand that Beck is out to make $$$$$$$$$.

Does any one take the chalk board serious, really?

If you can't realize he is out for the almighty dollar, then that is your problem.

Beck completely realizes his character and he runs with it.

I actually used to enjoy listening to him before he really started to run with his character. Now even if I do agree with him on most issues, I can't stand listening to him.

I miss the radio show Glenn Beck character. Moron trivia is a delight.

Also, when he was going to "kill" the puppy live on air was priceless.

This was the Glenn Beck that was awesome, and actually got him to where he is now. Ever since 2006 and his obsession with Iran and going all doomsday he has gone sharply down hill with the doom and gloom.

He is pandering to a segment of people who crave gloom and doom. Obama is the best thing that could have come down the road for Beck.
