Once North was injured, who was Dobbs supposed to throw to? The only other receiver who has produced this year is pig. All Vandy had to do was keep him in check and they did. So all these posts I see asking why didn't we throw the ball more well, the better question is who the hell does Dobbs have to throw to?

Then the players will to get better isn't there, and that's on both the coaches and the players. Got to step up and get better at this level, even if people aren't watching you.

Off topic, but I really hate Croom hasn't been more productive....he has the size to be an unstoppable WR.

Will to get better? Maybe we've already tapped their potential. I mean, there's a reason Smith was a 2*

I have thought about that and see it as a severe indictment of both Butch and Azzani. Unacceptable that if our true freshman WR goes down that that literally shuts down the ENTIRE passing game. Sorry, this is the SEC, that's not good enough, not by a long shot.

Unfortunately that is where our roster is at right now. The coaches can't do much if our receivers can't beat man coverage. A coach can only do so much if the talent isn't there then it just isn't there.

Something must have happened when Chaney's offense left. Jacob Carter used to be able to hold on to a pass. Oh, that's right, he rarely plays. Oh, that's right, they ran off Vincent Dallas. Even Downs could catch passes. DY, Neal, etc. all could catch passes. But, you have to call plays with them in the game where the ball gets thrown to them to catch passes. C'mon OP, you can do better than that.

They have talent, they're just not being developed, at all.

Smith gets open, can't catch. Croom has a 6'5" 230 lb body and we can't throw him any routes? Seriously? Paul Harris was a 4star recruit... where is he? He should be contributing, I think he was an early enrollee.... been in the program for 10 months, where is he?

Drae Bowles, 4star recruit.... Jacob Carter got playing time and made a few catches last year...why hasn't he progressed to the point where he can run some safe, easy routes and make a few grabs? Where are the TEs? Quinn's supposed to be a big, superior athlete, where is he? Where was Johnson last night? Did he have a catch? Pig didn't do anything last night other than drop/bobble that easy first down catch on the sideline and negate a TD by blocking that guy in the back, unnecessarily.

Sorry, it's just not good enough. Freaking Matthews was a 2 star with virtually no other offers coming out of college. Pretty much went to Vandy by default... Best WR in the conf and about to be a 1st rd pick.

I'll give that you might come across a bust
or 2 here and there... but a whole class of them? No. Unfortunately, we appear to be having the same problem developing our QBs .... beginning to look like a systemic issue.

Jacob Carter did used to ne able to catch a pass. And then the two guys he was out there with went 1st and 2nd roundin the NFL draft and now he can't get open.

Why in the H*LL could we not double cover their 14 catch evening, best in the SEC EVER WR? Was anyone surprised by the pass to their PLAYMAKER late in the game (considering they'd thrown to him 13 times already)? Apparently UT's coaches were ONCE AGAIN surprised that an opposing offense actually likes to get the ball to their PLAYMAKERS unlike our offense. Un.Be.Leave.Able.

I don't think it would have mattered if North was out there last night from the way Dobbs was throwing he wouldn't have got it to him anyways.

Because they threw so many down the field to North before he was injured.
