I haven't posted a thread like this on VN, though I've seen them from time to time and I'm always moved by them. I suppose it is now my turn to share some personal information and ask for the help of others. I decided to post this here as it's not football related, though that is the forum I frequent the most.
My cousin Kelly will be running in the St. Jude Country Music Half Marathon on April 26, 2014 in honor of my little sister Allison. The good Lord decided it was time for my baby sister to come home on Nov. 15 2000 when she was only 11 years old. I'm only 2 years older than her so I can't remember exactly, but I believe she was 6 when she was first diagnosed with brain cancer. She fought valiantly and defeated cancer, only to years later be diagnosed with cancer again - this time an inoperable tumor was on her spine. Still, she fought and yet again defeated it! We were all amazed with how strong she was at such a young age. Despite her triumphs, she was again diagnosed with a different cancerous brain tumor, the same type that took our father from us when I was 5 years old - glioblastoma.
Over half of her life was spent fighting cancer. Were it not for organizations like St. Jude's, my sister may have not even survived her first bout with cancer. Please take the time to read the information on this website, pass it along to others, and donate if you so desire. Any help is greatly appreciated. :hi:
Below is a picture of me and Allie before she became sick.
