I thought the most impressive thing about Tennessee tonight was ball distribution. That's one thing we can control even on off shooting nights. Great passes bring energy up and frustrate defenses. Great looks prevent you from having to hit guarded shots or long shots.

Golden recorded another 8 assists. Kid can really see the floor. The crazy thing is that he's playing a ton of his minutes with the B-team, and it might be tough to have your pass to some of those guys result in a bucket even in layup lines.

IMO the most jaw-dropping assists belonged to Brian Williams, though. Had a couple of no-look touch passes that were just things of beauty. He used to pass the ball very very well when he was playing spot duty the last couple of years, and I had kinda forgotten about it. Good to see that part of the game back.

I agree, Step. This season, it seems like we don't big time distributors (not that we've had great ones recently). Assists are a good thing to have a bounty of.

It was nice to see so many assists; it is yet to be determined if UT got better, Memphis is really that bad of a defensive team or a combo of the two.

He is one of the best passing big men I've ever seen. He has always had great distribution skills, the problem is that most of the time his teammate isn't expecting the ball to come to him at that time.

Yes, Brian Williams is a superb passer and has been since he was a freshman. Needs to work on those free throws though and work on slamming the ball instead of always laying it up.
