a.k.a. the Mirror image bowl

a.k.a. “The Bridesmaid’s BCS” game

a.k.a. the highest-ranked matchup that no one cares about.

(also ESPN won't really be talking about this one today because it's showing on a competing network in a competing time slot)

Ok State is a 1 point favorite

Go Mizzou (if I have to pick) but looking forward to an entertaining game.

This should be a high scoring game. Mizzou has an Big12 offense and hybrid SEC defense. They should win.

Storylines:

As these are old Big 12 (and really, even Big 8) conference-mates, Mizzou leads the series 28-23, though Oklahoma State won last meeting 45-23 in 2011. (Though Ok State was pretty much the only Big 8 school besides Kansas State that Missouri didn't have a rivalry with).

Ok State is 15-8 in bowl games; Missouri is 13-16.

A Missouri win would give Gary Pinkel his 102nd win, passing Don Faurot (who won 101 games at the school, won 3 conference championships, and took them to a Sugar and Orange Bowl) as the winningest coach in school history.

If Missouri wins tonight, it will give them 12 wins on the season, tying the school record for most wins in a season. (Previously set by the same coach during the 2007 season, where they also made the Cotton Bowl and beat a Darren McFadden-led Arkansas)

(…though it also feels like there could be a "Missouri: where the Cotton Bowl's the ceiling" joke that could be made from that as well)

I think Ok State's zone running game is going to win this game for them. Missouri's defense struggled with that type of offense late in the season (Texas A&M, Auburn).

Gus Johnson's calling the game…I know which game I'm staying with now :)

Fox lied though…it looks like the game doesn't start until 8 pm (could a mod edit that in the title please? I'd appreciate it).

I do like that the cotton bowl is doing and showing intros and the teams running out.

Gus is a little much for me sometimes, but he beats the hell outta Verne & Gary.

I got Okie Lite, can't believe the total on this game "61.5" is so low

That #99 d-lineman for Oklahoma State was fast for how big he was... he was staying pretty close trailing Missouri's running back from behind and Missouri's running back looks fast.
