I'm a current Dish Network customer. Have had several issues with my reception since "upgrading" to their HD receiver and dish. Long story short, not pleased.

I have been looking to switch services and have received mailers from AT&T about their U Verse service. And if I do switch, I think I'm going to get away from the satellite companies. Seems like a pretty good deal and pricing seems very reasonable.

Do any of you guys/gals have/had this service? If so, what are your thoughts? All feedback appreciated.

Currently have AT&T Uverse and really enjoy it. Their any room DVR system is great! To get the SEC Network you have to get the U200 package or higher though. Never had any issues with customer service either.

Awesome. How is the picture quality? I've read a few reviews online where the picture quality has been blasted. Any issues there?

Between Samsung, LG, and Panasonic tvs I've not had an HD quality complaint. I'm not sure what those people were referring to. Are you in Knoxville?

I'm in Cleveland. Just stated that when switching from Directv, Comcast, etc (same TVs) the picture quality wasn't as good. Seemed odd to me, plus I try not to put too much stock in online reviews because you typically only see people who had bad experiences w/o hearing from those who have positive experiences.

Those people might be a little anal. As someone who switched from Comcast to Uverse here in Knoxville they both have the same quality picture. I've heard people say over the years about how satellite has a better HD picture than cable, maybe it does maybe it doesn't, but I know when a storm rolls through I'm still watching the game while Joe Bob's satellite down the street goes out.

Yeah, I think all of us with Dish lost the Utah State game for a few mins last year. That was torture. I appreciate the info, Coug.

I had it briefly and when it worked I liked it just fine. I live in an old neighborhood with old telephone lines and lots of trees. Basically, the signal kept cutting out (all day, every day). ATT tried like hell to fix it but could not.

If it had worked properly I would have kept it. Just didn't work where I live.

Now I use DirecTV and local cable for Internet

I'm not a big fan of ATT customer service, but the u-verse television is pretty nice. One cool thing you can do is sign into your account from work, on the road or whatever and still watch live tv. channel selection is limited, but it can be done.

I had directv switched to Uverse for about two weeks and got rid of it real quick. The picture was not very good at all, I didn't care for the guide, If you use On Demand it takes about twice as long for the shows to be available, they gave me about 60 something Mvs but your TV uses the network so I got about 20. I hated it. In my opinion once you go Directv nothing compares. Their picture quality it's far better than any other. That's all I got to say about that (in my forest gump voice)

Switched from Directv and love it. They paid off our ETF with Directv. Very clear picture and Internet is smooth. Very user friendly and good mobile app that works as DVR and remote. Great rates compared to other providers. We have U300 package.

Plus, no contracts!!

I have a Roku. My sister has Uverse. I leech off her on a daily basis. I give the Uverse two thumbs up.

I have been on U-verse since it became available, for 4 or 5 years. Live in Sevier County. The best provider available. Excellent HDTV and internet. Much better than the others in my experience. Also great remote operation features as mentioned. Can change your TV plan, phone features, set your DVR to record, etc. from your computer. They also have wireless DVR units. All of the equipment is small and easy to set up.

A few times we had a synch issue where we got a frozen picture on the TV, but a quick reset of the DVR or gateway resolved it. There's a good troubleshooting feature on the menu. In the early days when they were setting up the distribution there were a lot of issues. That seems to have gone away completely or lessened greatly based on comments of friends and family that also have it.

Yeah, if you happen to be away from home and want to record something you can log into the app and set your DVR to record it also.

This is hilarious! :)
