I have noticed that a lot of responses to comments are showing a high level of personally directed hostility, and a lack of common courtesy. I'm all for intense debate about the Vols, but calling people ignorant/stupid, etc. Serves no purpose. At the of the day, we are fans of the Tennessee Volunteers, that's all.

Common courtesy also needs to be directed toward the players also! After all they are part of the team we root for.

This I can’t stand. I don’t want it to be years for Joe Milton and Kamal Haden to come back, like Casey Clausen or Arian Foster. It’s stupid. They are one of us. Triple J gets the same on the basketball side, and Vescovi to some extent. Stop being stupid and stop eating our own. Those boys put way more effort and grind into Tennessee than any Tennessee fan. It needs to stop

First time on the internet?

What if I told you some critics aren’t even Vol fans?

Hmmm this post is ironic. Did I hurt your feelings my friend? First time on the internet yourself?? Also being critical on the internet is fine. Player hating like booing someone during introductions is not. There’s a fine line between hating someone and constructive criticism. I’m sure a big internet guy like yourself understands lol

I agree and disagree. Other than the well being of the people that I love there’s not much else that matches the passion I have for UT football, I suspect that I’m not alone in that feeling. What I’m seeing on here more frequently that bothers me, is a very peculiar sense of entitlement. A minority on here seem to think that they are personally above having to support the team unless we are contending for the conference.

I think the guy you were responding to was agreeing with you in a way. Sounded like he was saying that some of the loudest critics on here don’t actually support UT, but are here to watch the proverbial world burn.

You're not a real fan until you've been temp banned from VN and got a talking to from Freak.

Last Saturday 21st, I smashed my 27" 720pixel LCD TV in front of 5 guests at my party because of Joe's fumble-6. My wife just took our crying kids and said they’re all spending the week at a hotel because I can't handle a game. My guests all left when I shattered a window throwing my almost full can of Pabst through it, screaming "BUCK FAMA!". Over a week later my family hasn't come home. This daMn team cost me all my friends, my kids, and my 4th marriage. Now some of you mediocrity loving sunshine pumpers want to tell me everything's OK just because we didn't lose to Kentucky? I can’t handle this team anymore. /s

You joined in 2011 and just now you’ve had enough? This has been going on forever it seems.

Damn. And here I thought I’ve been taking it too far by just yelling and cussing at the TV during the game…

It’s a public forum for a bunch of rabid sports fans. Rude comments are just going to happen, especially when no one knows each other and people can hide behind their keyboard.

This is a fan forum for fans to post their ideas and thoughts both negative and positive. It seems that if you post something that is in direct opposition to a rose colored glasses fan, you will be bashed and called a troll, which makes the forum so much more interesting. It's ok to debate and not agree!

You didn’t hurt my feelings at all. All I’m saying is it’s a message board you’re going to see some criticism of players. A lot of it is idiotic, some of it isn’t even from our fans but trolls masquerading as fans. And yes we have plenty that don’t want to change their minds on a player once they’ve criticized that player. Absolutely agree booing your own players is idiotic.
