hey guys.

first, we appreciate the class of your board and as displayed on your trips to ours. we got the win but we do like the vol fans and are proud to be in your company, win or lose.

second, vandy is tough at home. like they always seem to do, they hang around forever. their offense, while drab in many respects, has a way of stringing a defense wide.

how do you guys feel about your game this week after the hog game last week?

good luck.

Confident but by no means over confident. We have to play ball.

Vandy put up 240 rushing yards on you guys (Arkansas) so they have the potentional to do it again and it's obvious our D Line is the weakest link on our team. So there are worries. For me at least.

Me too. They beat Georgia; they only lost to Florida by six points. I heard a radio interview here in Atlanta with Bobby Johnson two days before the Georgia game in which he said something to the effect of "Everyone in the SEC is writing off what we did last year as just being because of Jay Cutler, but we feel like we've closed the gap between us and the good teams in the conference because we've added a lot of team speed all over the field. We may not have as many horses as some of the other teams, but we feel like now we've got athletes that can make plays, too." And then a couple of days later they beat Georgia on their own field.

If I'm Bobby Johnson I run the ball until UT can stop it, make them chase my mobile quarterback around (including, of course, the dreaded option which UT cannot stop), and shorten the game to the point where a couple of turnovers can make the difference. If the Vols come out focused, we should win going away, but if we're flat again, this game is dangerous.

Vandy's bugaboo against the Cats was turnovers- 2 fumbles lost, and 2 interceptions by Nickson. Kentucky only committed one.

Hold onto the ball, grind it out with Foster, get first downs, and you leave Nashville with a win.

They DO have a pretty athletic defense, though.
