I've defended him, up until this morning. I wanted to give Hamilton the benefit of the doubt-looking back he should not have gone after Kiffin, even though I understand what he was trying to do in shifting the culture. However, the LOA paints a picture that is pretty damning on how he managed the basketball program. It seems that he let Pearl just do whatever he wanted to do, out of fear he would leave if he stood in the way, or who knows what.

If you put that on top of the mistake in hiring Kiffin, add the (arguably) questionable hiring of Dooley (even though I absolutely love him, but we still don't know if he can actually coach yet), and add the ridiculous 4 year extension given to Fulmer a year after his first 5-7 season which you can argue began the cluster%$k in football it's pretty clear it's time for Hamilton to suffer the consequences. My question is-where does Tennessee go next for their AD (and please do not say Fulmer)?

There is a laundry list of mess ups on Hamilton's part. Seems all the decisions up there are based on money. It's the only reason he's still there.

Obviously she's a great coach, but we're talking about somebody with a PE degree from Tennessee-Martin. Is she really qualified to run a multi-million dollar business?

Uh, yes

Couldn't do much worse than Hammy

Why not? Hire an assistant AD with a law or business degree and let Pat be the face of the athletics department. Do you honestly think there would be any shenanigans with recruiting if she was in charge?

I just can't get interested in women's basketball, but Summitt has obviously learned a great deal of marketing, finance and fundraising in her years as coach of the Lady Vols. Far more than my Sports Management Masters Degree will ever teach, I would say that with certainty. It's not like she walked into a proven commodity when she got things started.

My dad retired from a job in which he wouldn't have been able to even apply for the job under him because of his lack of degrees, but he knew everything he needed to and more.

. . . but he got his own documentary and threw a pass to Kenny Chesney. That has to count for something.

Just wait for the Andy Kelly documentary narrated by David Keith. With so many first names in the title, Vol fans will have no choice but to throw their support behind Kelly.
