Don't be too high on Ohio State, they lost 9 starters on defense and before you say look at their offense just remind yourself that Jim Tressel calls the shots.
Also, watch how Troy Smith plays without Santonio Holmes this year, I know every one likes lil' gin, but Holmes was their best receiver last year.
The locals up here still complain about Smiths want to run before throwing the ball downfield. Smith will pass up intermediate passes, 15-30 yard range to make the safe run call which I would not doubt Tressel tells him to do so that the offense does not risk a turnover.
Ohio State will always be a defensive first team under Tressel. That is how he was at Youngstown State and that is how he has been during his tenure at Ohio State.
Tressel's Maxims: 1.) Special Teams 2.) Defense 3.) Field Position 4.) If the offense scores that is an added bonus.
Ohio State is a terrible road team and they have to go to Texas and Iowa before their defense has a legitimate shot at continuity.
Ohio State will win the lil' 11, aka big 10, but nothing more.....................
