Athlon: Jayden Daniels, Joe Milton III rank as SEC's top Heisman Trophy candidates

I don't know about you, but Daniels didn't exactly impress me last year when we beat the snot out of them in Baton Rouge.

He’s not that QB anymore. Transfer QBs need time to acclimate. Daniels got much better as the year went on. Just as Milton isn’t the same guy we saw at the beginning of 2021. Both are fantastic QBs now.

Agree, honestly I see LSU taking a step back this year . 7-8 wins , could see them 3-3 or even 2-4 before the Army game.

Bold call. Not sure I agree. They will get good games from FSU, MSU & Ole Miss, there may be a L even 2 in that group but overall Tigers are solid team.

Is that why, as one poster stated, he got pulled in the SEC championship game? I had no desire to watch that game, so I don’t know the circumstances of why he was pulled. I do know they get their butt kicked by GA, so that’s just another data point that supports my post.

Milton is supposedly the 3rd best QB per preseason SEC voting, but yet you tell me he’s one of the two best candidates in the SEC for Heisman case??? Something does not compute.

The same SEC voting that had 8 people picking Vanderbilt to win the East and 5 to win the conference…
