The only issue I have with this poll is the fact they have Baylor at 7. I think miss spandex clearly has herself a top five team in Baylor, and one that could potentially challenge for a NC. I'm surprised they have Miss State so high, Athlon seems to be high on this McCowan girl. Miss State has brought their program a long way, but I still don't think they are a top ten team yet. Ohio State is interesting, as they played everyone they faced last season really tough. Mitchell is the real deal and it will be interesting to see if she can continue to tear up the scoreboard. Would have loved seeing her play at Tennessee.
Back to Tennessee. I think Tennessee is the number 2 team, no question about it. I can't wait to see Cooper, Deshields, Russell, Graves and Nared all on the court at the same time. With the exception of UCONN, I don't see another team being able to stop this lineup, SC and ND included. The only concern would be their offensive identity. We know they will play great defense, but what will their offensive identity be on the court? Holly says she is installing a new offense. That's good and all, but sometimes installing new offenses take time to actually see results. Didn't Pat try some kind of triangle offense that really didn't go over well years back?? I really think Holly has something special this year, and I see Tennessee finally getting over that Final Four hump as well. All in all, I'm excited to see all our players get playing time and I think all of them will contribute in some way. I also think this year's attendance will see a big boost..
