Who do you think gets bumped when Huddy gets back? Most obvious answer will be Teheran due to his youth but I think he gonna come in and be lights out after a cup or two of coffee last year and an entire offseason to prepare. However, Mike is gonna break out this year.. I hung out and talked to him a couple of times this offseason when he was back home, and he has put on some muscle in his lower body and is mentally geared up. Unbiased think he is going to be much improved this year. Ahyhow, Teheran is gonna have a permanent spot in the rotation and soon. Dude is an ace.

I'm seriously worry about his back. No inside info or anything, but I'm scared he'll need surgery for it. It just scares me when I hear pitcher and back injury.

But, if he comes back, most likely Teheran. I still think he needs a couple months in the minors. Heck, Delgado looked better than him last year, so Randall might get it. But if Huddy/Hanson are 100% (JJ is, he got his big toe fixed and is good to go), then they are going to have to trade someone. My opinion is if everyone is healthy (this is a monster if), then JJ will get traded for a SS or corner outfielder.

Diaz is toast.

Delgado has a lot of poise.. He is going to develop into an above average starter. I am interested to see how Hansen is going to look this year with his new delivery. He cut out the pause. Should keep him healthier. Hopefully JJ is dealing like the beginning of last year and his trade value goes though the roof.. And we can land a stud corner outfielder. I doubt that we will go after a quality SS with all the depth and talent we have in the minors.

Delgado is going to be very, very good IMO. He has four quality pitches, with a fastball of 97. If he can develop one of his three off speed pitches into a strikeout pitch, he'll be a stud.

I'm curious to see Hanson's new delivery.

JJ is going to have a monster year. They fixed his big toe (which was the cause of his leg problems).

I hope Hanson not only fixes the pause, but completely stops showing the ball to hitters. It's always driven me nuts.

I still think Hanson has quite a ways to go before he hits his ceiling. A lot of upside there.

We need a little more luck this year per the injury bug. But, it's the marathon we like to call baseball. I wonder if they have considered stop playing ball when it's snowing and cutting the 162 down a bit...

I am pretty excited about Medlen being back, he is very underrated. He flies under the radar, should have a really solid year.. It was huge for the psyche when he came in at the end of last season and pitched his butt off.

Hopefully Moylan is vintage, really glad he came back.. Great clubhouse guy and the veteran and leader of a young pen. Will be interesting to see if Vizcaino solidifies a big role in the bullpen this year.. This pen could be legendary.

On a side note, Linebrink signed with the Cards.

Agree completely with Medlen and Viz being huge, underrated factors.

Delgado does not throw 97..where do y'all get this stuff?

Delgado can touch mid 90's but I don't consider him a power pitcher. He will sit around 89 to 93 on average now.. Got a live arm though and he still a kid practically. What gets me about him is how composed his approach to the mound is..

Agreed.

There's a huge difference in touching 95 and saying a guy has a 97 fastball. Verlander has a 97 fastball.

Consistently? No. But last year he did hit 97 a few times. But he's more a 91-94 guy.

He averaged 93 on his fastball last year.

Does he throw more than 2 starts

Delgado? I hope not, but surely he will.

I'd like Hudson, Hanson, Jurrjens, Beachy, and Teheran to make every start this year but it's not my call so unfortunately we'll see plenty of Mike Minor. And given the injury history of 4 of those guys, we'll see a good dose of Delgado as well.

Can I borrow some pitching depth? And yeah, 93 and 97 is a difference worth mentioning.

Wow I knew he hit it quite a bit but did not realize he averaged 93. That is exciting. Now let him develop his secondary pitches and watch out.

I love how he has three average breaking pitches. All he has to do is develop one and he can be a star.

Hudson and O'Flaherty have some pretty solid breaking stuff in their respective arsenals, I am sure they have some great perspective to share with him.

Of course Venters has the nastiest stuff but it's not exactly easy to teach natural release motion. I dunno how many interviews I have seen O'Flaherty jokingly cursing Venters and his natural movement versus how much work he has to put in to hit spots with movement.
