I wouldn't say absolutely everything but he did a solid job this year.

What more could he have done or with who? He still hasn't been here a year. This team is filled with J. Rich, Moore (who took the next step under DT) and a bunch of post signing day castaways. I know you hate the zone, but let the man get his personnel in place. We didn't even have a post player or true big. His issue is his baggage, not his coaching. He is a damn fine basketball coach.

Fair points, but his baggage is a pretty significant problem if it's going to continue to hamstring his recruiting to the point that we're forced to continually fill the roster with post signing day castoffs. It doesn't matter a bit if he's the greatest coach on the planet if he's got something hanging over his head that prevents him from getting quality players to Knoxville.

I totally understand the baggage, just in my opinion, he will be worth the consequences assuming they aren't severe. A third head coach in 3 years would set us back even further. Recruiting is taking a hit regardless. Is what it is, I personally hope we keep him. I understand why some would want him gone, but finding a better coach will be tough. The man knows the game, and will be an ace recruiter. A potent combo when enabled to be at full steam.

I personally hope he weathers all this too. He appears to be a good coach, and I don't have a lot of faith in the administration to find someone as good or better given their track record of bargain hunting rather than just paying market value for the best possible guy we can get to take the job.

How do we know this?

I'm not of the opinion that he sucks and needs to go, I just don't think I've seen anything so far to know he's great either. At times he seemed to do miraculous things with a (mostly) terrible squad, that LSU game was an amazing performance. Then at other times they looked they were allergic to playing anything resembling perimeter defense, they 3 pt % against us was just all time bad. I realize some of that is roster related but I don't think you can completely write off scheme being partially to blame also.
