Since they are basically are closest NBA team, is anyone besides myself a fan of them? They have grown to be pretty fun to watch, and I go see them play about 5 times a year. I'm sure I'm the only fan though.

Eh, don't really follow the NBA that much, but if I had to pick my favorite team it would probably be the Knicks.

The Hawks are garbage...they have no point guard...they should have drafted Brandon Roy or Chris Paul but the are stupid...

Kinda followed them when they had 'Nique, Stacy Augmen, Mookie, Kevin Willis and not to be left out- John Konkack but after they traded 'Nique I stopped following them

I agree that they need a point guard, but they do have an all star in Joe Johnson, along with valuable swingman in Josh Smith, Josh Childress, and Marvin Williams. Hopefully the PG position will be addressed this year.

Hawks are horrible...

The 1999 and 2000 drafts really set them back...they had a chance to alter their franchise with 5 first round picks:

Jason Terry
Cal Bowdler
Dion Glover
Jumaine Jones
DerMarr Johnson

As you can see...they blew it.

I wince just reading that post. Pete Babcock was just a horrible, horrible GM.

That's the tough thing with the Hawks. It's not like they don't have a very athletic core group of players. Joe Johnson and Josh Smith can flat out play, but the last couple of years have just been unwatchable.

Josh Smith can flat out dunk. The rest of his game is iffy at best.

That was 14 years ago . . . Forgive and forget. :)

I didn't really mean I was mad I've never been a big Hawks fan buy I loved watching those teams play and after they traded him that just began the spiral downward.

On a side note does anyone remember him playing with Celtics, Spurs and Magic? That is so wierd and he also played overseas. A weird end to a great career. Kinda like Pat Ewing except for the overseas part.

SPeaking of popcorn did anyone else see Bill Walker sitting on the bench for Kansas State the other night eating popcorn?

He can also rebound and defend. He is one of the best blockers in the league.
Blocking shots doesn't necessarily equate to playing good defense. Look at the number of times forwards who are mediocre players go off for big numbers against the Hawks. There's a reason the team stinks. With the exception of Joe Johnson, they don't have any high quality NBA players.

All I am saying is that he had 27 points tonight, 9 boards, 3 steals, 3 assists, and 4 blocks. Sounds like more than just a good dunker.
