Vol Nation, I've been selected to attend a leadership course on campus in early Jun. It's my first trip to Knoxville and was hoping to get some suggestions on the best places to eat and hang out.

I would appreciate anything you guys are willing to share. TIA

That all depends on your price range and how rowdy you are.

Yeah well given I'll be representing the USAF probably wouldn't be a good look to wind up on the blotter.

SNCOs always ruining all the fun.

I remember when you only have to be sober enough to stumble across the platform to graduate ALS.

Not sure how much time you will have, but the options on the strip are not what they used to be. I would encourage you to spend some time at the Market Square in old downtown Knoxville. There are plenty of restaurants, including southern food, at various price ranges. There's also a few good bars with live music if you're interested.

This and the bars/restaurants on Gay Street. Can’t go wrong with them.

High end steaks and game meats: Lonesome Dove
J.C Holdway is great too.
Mid range: bistro at the Bijou. Martha lays out a great menu.
Emelia is good Italian food on market square.
Quick bite : curious dog.

I'll be in town a little over a week, so the more options the better. Gonna try and soak up as much as I can, don't really want to hang out in a hotel room for a week. Thanks for the input.

Given our recent past, ironic a leadership course is being held at UT. The BOT and UT admin should be required to attend.
