OMG! She may regret this.

Two of Auburn's coaches wives called in to have their say on the way the situation at Auburn was handled.

An Auburn coach's wife. She's just saying what I'm sure Vicky Fulmer was thinking. It's pretty b**chy though

Its Auburn's D-line coach's wife. And she said she was driving home, with her daughter, and her daughter said she got a text message saying CTT was fired. SHe called a few people to make sure it was true, and it was. Her husband is in Maryland recruiting a QB at the moment. Said AU didn't tell any of the coaches other than maybe CTT.

She said Auburn wants "somebody that'll buy players like Nick Saban does".

I'm sure Auburn will have to pay the assistant coaches a buyout, but it sucks to be looking for a new job right now, having to move families, etc.

Not in text form. But if you click Amycall1 on that link, it'll play through both lady's phonecalls.

Thanks, I couldn't get the plugin to come up in Firefox, so I load IE and got to listen to it. Sounds like Auburn is imploding. Nick Saban probably can't believe his good fortune and I bet Steve Enzminger probably can't believe his wife called a radio station to ruin his prospects for getting another job.

It sucks looking for a job even more when your wife is airing dirty laundry on over the airwaves and internet.

Really? Given what Auburn did and how they did it, I think both wives were spot on.

Firing is never, ever, easy, but regardless of your view of Coach Fulmer's dismissal, Mike Hamilton's approach at Tennessee and Auburn's approach are like night and day. It is amazing to me how the Auburn administration mistreated their staff---for the second time in just a few years (anyone remember Petrino-gate and the airport meeting?)---and I'll be sorry for the next victim-to-be, whoever their next coach turns out to be. If Leach has a brain, it shouldn't even cross his mind to deal with that group.

I'm not saying I don't agree with them. Please don't get me wrong. I think they said what we're all thinking.

I bet Bobby Petrino is stupid enough to do it

To bad some of her husbands class didn't rub off on her. On top of moving she may be looking at divorce... What a knucklehead....

I agree, both wives had every right to call in and give there two sense. It was handled totally wrong and the fact that everyone but the families new and that some of the coach's were out in different states recruiting and found out is absolutely ridiculous.

My question is, how do the assistant coach's already know they are fired? Has Auburn already hired a coach and they've said terminate all staff? Isn't it the new Head Coach's decision on whether to keep the guys or not? Seems to me they would be letting the offensive staff go, not the defensive. Of course I guess the same could have been said for us, in this matter.

I heard the replay on the radio this morning.

1) Coaches'/Players' wives, girlfriends and Mothers should stay at least 100 feet from a telephone when sports talk radio is on the air. The stuff she said about "$200 in a kid's pocket" was completely out of bounds and she has to know that whether it's true or not, if she says stuff like that, she becomes a liability for her husband.

2) She is right that the whole process was bungled. She found out her husband was fired via a text message from one of her daughter's friends and called her husband who was in Maryland at a kid's house recruiting.

Auburn just isn't very good at coach searches/transitions.

I can't listen in my phone.. What did she say.. And is iit vicky fulmer or layla kiffin?

Neither, Thankfully.

It's some of Auburn's assistant coach's wives that got fired.

Basically one of them said that her daughter recieved a text message while in the car stating that her dad had been fired. He was in Maryland recruiting a QB and he found out by there high school coach that he had been fired.

The other wife said that her son was in the class giving a speech at Auburn when someone interrupted and said his dad had been fired.

She also said that a few other coaches were on there way to Miami and found out on the flight that they had lost there jobs and that they had to fuel the plane up when they landed to send them back home.

how can these women really act this surprised?? Tubs has been out all season his only chance was to somehow beat bammers and they laid an egg. Their husbands should have known to contact their real estate brokers and not contact recruits.
