Multiple sources said part of Steele’s pitch included potentially adding current South Carolina offensive coordinator Mike Bobo.

Imagine having Mike Bobo on board to be your OC as your strongest argument for why you should be given the HC job at Auburn.

If Auburn spent that money to can Gus, seems they would have no problem beating Oregon's extension offer to Mario ......

I'm really liking the idea that Auburn got wind of Fulmer sniffing around Steele (you know deep in your heart that is where he is thinking on going) and some booster at Auburn wouldn't let it happen and fired Gus to preempt Phil from stealing Steele. It makes too much sense. It takes all the craziness of both our programs to create this perfect storm. Us in our desire to find another Bruce Pearl so that we don't spend too much and Auburn's overbearing boosters making crazy irrational snap decisions.

I am not sure a game (or record) from 21 years ago has meaning on whether someone can do the job now.

That being said, I think I would like our chances if this did happen.

I am not sure what your comment even means, but then again I do not understand how one game from 21 years ago has bearing on a coaching hire decision made today either. Since I have no interest in what Auburn does one way or the other outside of how it might impact what I do care about, nor am I spending any money on this, I can assure you I will spend my money wisely as I see fit, so thanks for the advice.

And since Tennessee has just played Auburn twice in 3 years, unlikey they'll be back on the schedule for sometime to capitalize on a bad hire
