My pastor is a big Auburn fan and he mentioned that Marshall had an injured shoulder. Has any one heard this, and if so how might it affect their game plan?

Hes banged up but he will still play. Their backup QB would eat Coleman alive with the deep ball, he will probably even come in and do that anyways.

It's been hurt for almost a month, that is why they pulled the redshirt off their star freshman. Sound familiar?

Marshall hurt it in the Ole Piss game, first by laying wood on a DB and later on a sack.

He's fine, but you'll still see JJ some. Not as much of a run threat but a much better passer.

Even their starter can pull it down and run if he has to. This AU team is just dangerous.

Not just if he has to. Marshall has 21 more rushing attempts then Marlin Lane and is second in rushing for Auburn. It's probably going to be another long day for our defense.

I didn't realize that about his attempts. But at the same time, Lane hasn't had a huge amount of carries this far into the season, so that may not be a fair comparison, even from a QB to RB perspective. But still, the point remains, that this guy is a legit running threat.

This game scares the hell out of me because I don't want us to get the wheels blown off the wagon in our own house.

I used to get excited when a starting q.b. might be missing in action, but not any more.

I saw what has happened with Rohan Davey out and Mauk in. I saw what happened with Drew Bledsoe out and Brady in. I saw what happened with James Franklin out and Matty Maulk in.

Some times, the back up is as good or better than the starter.

Ok Marshall only has 6 less carries then Manziel. :) He's a runner. I'm with you I don't want to see our defense get destroyed again. Even if we had more talent I wouldn't trust Jancek to match wits with Malzahn.

I think we are in trouble. Worse match up for us than Missouri. Only advantage is we are at home. Could get ugly.

Missouri is the much worse match up for UT. AU doesnt have the D or DLine that Mizzou has nor does AU have receivers like Mizzou does. We match up much better with AU based on Mizzou having the better D and much better receivers, plus like you said its at home. We match up better with AU than we did S.Carol. Luckily both are home games.

Huh, what an interesting concept a dual-threat QB.... I guess TN missed that lesson in class the past 6-8 yrs... Hopefully Dobbs or Ferg can get it done. Still can't believe Kif told Taj Boyd to look elsewhere and to de-commit.

Everything Fast Lane touches turns to crap. Hope that doesn't apply to Layla.

Tennessee has a knack for making opposing backup Qbs into superstars. So, don't get too excited whenever you read or hear that their starting Qb is injured. It doesn't mean squat!

Im not any more concerned about this game than I was any of the others. This team is so inconsistent we don't know which team will show up Saturday. If we play with the same intensity that we did against UGA and SC we can win this game, if we play like we did against Mizz, we wouldn't beat hardly anybody. Hopefully the crowd brings some energy, and the team shows up and comes out with something to prove. AU is on a roll, and they have some talent, but they aren't unbeatable, especially in our house. You can scheme them and it doesn't take much to make them one dimensional, the question is can we execute the scheme...stay in our gaps and minimize the long runs, there will be some, but we cant get beat deep and allow them to force us to back off of the line, stay in our gaps, hold the edge, and let AJ have a big day... offensively, establish the run and make the catches and keep the heat off of Dobbs so he is not forced into making bad decisions..... basically we have to play fundamentally sound, protect the football and keep AU under 200 yards rushing and I think we win.

Hopefully, Thigpen will have enough insight since he is familiar with their program. I am sure this will help immensely with scheming.
