Volnation's crop of panty waste will be here shortly to give Updyke the death penalty over a couple of stupid trees.

It doesn't matter if its a couple trees, a painted rock, or a statue of a current championship winning coach...

Defacing or destroying these traditions/properties is terrible. The celebration of the act is even more disgusting.

Auburn fans couldn't care less that we flatten thousands of trees everyday, but kill two of them and all of a sudden it's a tragic event. This has gotten more pub than college athletes dying. Ridiculous.

It's not ridiculous. It also isn't relative to any other events. It should not be compared to any other either.

The fact is some piece of crap claiming Bama fanship shat all over AUs tradition. There is no excuse for it. There is no positive spin for the Bama trolls. A fan of their team took something away that can't be replaced.

I think that sucks but it's typical of their inbred worthless azzes.

It's not the trees that cause the anger from people like me, who are outside the Auburn family.

It's destroying a tradition of decades of alum, that happens to represented by some trees.

If this were a CNN story, you could use the rain forest argument. This is a sports story, and should be compared with any other tradition ruined and defaced by rival fans. It's over the top, ignorant, and shouldn't be celebrated.

Let's do a wee bit of research about this "tradition" before we make it a holocaust level tragedy.

Exaggerated tradition.

And someone put an Auburn jersey on Bear Bryant's statue, an icon for that university, and very important to that university.

Didn't see any outrage there.

Again, I agree, two wrongs don't make a right, but a jersey is easily removed.

I don't see the comparison to actually destroying the physcial representation of the tradition.

You can take the Jersey off and most will never know it happened. Hell if the statue got stolen it can be put back. This tradition is going to die with the trees.

Kinda sad that you don't get it.

I'm just saying they are acting like people are dead. Yeah, it sucks, but good night, get a grip here.

First off, I'm not a tradition guy when it comes to sports. It's kind of silly. So there's that.

Two, I get it sucks, but the fact they are acting like people are dying and have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to "save" two trees is sad.

How much would UT fans spend if it were our tradition?
