From now until sunrise, the northern half of the US is likely to see the northern lights, while as far south as Tennessee has a small chance to see it as well.

Just stood outside for a good 15 minutes but didn't see anything here in west Knoxville.

You need to be in a no/low light area to view the northern lights. At EAFB in Alaska, they are an awesome site to behold.

Supposed to be possibly visible here between 3am and 6am Wednesday.

I just watched the movie with Dennis quaid. frequency is the name of the movie.

the son in the future talks to his dad in the past because of the aurora borealis.
it's just weird that this thread is started after I watched this movie

Yup. Light pollution here makes it impossible, unfortunately. As a kid i would see them somewhat regularly for the latitude, but things have growm up a lot.

Would you beleive, the first time I saw the AB was in 1980 or 81 While stationed at BAFB, Arkansas. Strange.
