I'll try to keep this brief...

AP is 10-6, their RPI is 245 and their SOS is 292. Nothing very impressive, we beat Lipscomb 6-0 and AP beat them 5-2.

Unfortunately this is another very good offensive team, the team BA is .304 and they have been a doubles hit machine. Over 16 games we've hit 25 doubles. Over the same number of games they've hit 49, nearly double. They have 93 RBI compared to our 63. So they can hit, can they hit Zach Warren whose ERA is the highest on the team sitting at 9.82 after only 3.2 innings? We'll see.

The good news is that while they have good Offensive numbers, everything else doesn't look as good. They've had the same kind of issues as us in the field, their FLD% is .960, ours is .956. 25 errors to our 27 and they are allowing 6.1 runs per game compared to our 3.9.

Their team ERA is at 5.17 and they have gotten a lot more guys work than we have been able to do thus far. At this time I don't know who will pitch for them tomorrow. This is due to them finishing a four game series with Jacksonville State a few hours ago.

So...we need a good start from Warren and we're going to see several guys get work but we cannot afford to lose this game...A win doesn't do anything for our RPI, but a loss would be an ugly one. This team needs to gain some confidence and they need to play sharper in the field and that needs to start tomorrow. Based on what we've seen so far this could turn into a slugfest, but I'm really hoping we play better in the field and can pitch well enough for this to not get out of control.

In addition, CDS was on the radio today, you could hear in his voice the disappointment and I think it has more to do with some "issues" with players behind the scenes not taking care of the "details". After the game I questioned the leadership of the team and I don't feel any better after CDS's comments. As a coach you can only do so much, sometimes the players have to stand up and I think maybe these guys are such good friends, it might be difficult, but they better get it fixed. They usually archive the radio show, I'd be interested in what others think of the comments...anyhoo...

Good post. Thanks. Yeah, there's so much we really don't see...except on the field. DS will do his best to get it sorted out. :crossfingers:

I go to AP. Like you said, we hit well. Actually came back from 8 down to win a game this weekend, but the pitching is rough, especially mid-week. We are still relatively young as well.

That's awesome, anything you'd like to add about specific players you've seen, or anything really, I'd welcome it.

You pretty much covered all of it. 1-6 in the line-up can really hit, at least at the OVC level.
I see Zach Hall didn't pitch this weekend, so unless he is hurt that is my guess as to who they pitch. If it is not him, it will be someone making their first start of the year.

Didn't we play AP in the fall scrimmage? If so, I do not remember much of what happened.
